CottageHore Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Such a nostalgic album for me for such a weird time in my life and in ways it feels like it perfectly foreshadowed the absolute mess 2020 was. It ushered out its decade perfectly. 1
JoeAg Posted August 30 Posted August 30 oh holy sh*t that came up quick I didn't realize that was today yes, phenomenal album and her best! a true masterpiece of alternative rock/baroque pop, so poignant and important in the scheme of pop culture in the 21st century! the lyrics, the melodies, her vocals… just incredible. the whole rollout was something to behold too, and her Doin Time cover solidified respect from a lot of straight men I was friends with at the time. the only song I'm not a fan of is Hope Is a Dangerous thing, but I do like the lyrics of it at least! just a stunning album overall, need to give it a cute stream tonight, and ATRL needs a Lana gaycat!! 1
JoeAg Posted August 30 Posted August 30 I was dating my ex girlfriend when this album came out and they preferred Lover to it I have to say that Lover will forever be slightly underrated considering it was done dirty by being proceeded by Taylor's two worst first two singles, but I still think NFR! was more impactful and important personally lol
G.U.Y. Posted August 30 Posted August 30 NFR is to Folklore what All I Have is to Dangerously in Love. I said what I said.
Oceansaway Posted August 30 Posted August 30 A record that stands the test of time because it defined the times. 1
BYoncé Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Talk about a career high to end her legacy on, it's really sad we lost her to Covid in January 2020.

Oh that's not—
OnlyManInTheWorld Posted August 30 Posted August 30 I could never get into any of Lana's albums except this. Must be one of the best albums of all-time. She did that
Romantica Posted August 30 Posted August 30 I still listen to it and enjoy it like it was the first time. This is probably going to be one of, if not my fav album of all time. It´s literally perfect in all aspects.
watermelonshake Posted August 30 Posted August 30 One of the best albums of all time. Hoping for an anniversary vinyl repress like she did with LFL and Ultraviolence.

Europe Posted August 30 Posted August 30 She was smart to promote this one with the long snippets of White Mustang / California / Cinnamon Girl / Happiness Is A Butterfly. These long snippets were out there for a very long time before the album came out and they built up the anticipation because the melodies are super strong. And then she released the album and we had these 4 absolutely strong songs which everyone loves.
Kimi Posted August 30 Posted August 30 it's okay but why is this one her classic? no clue. has highlights but on average nothing outstanding 2
no_better Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Historic album, most songs on it are as breathtaking as they were the day of the record's release. Venice B**** is one of the best psychadelic rock songs of all time and Lana's best song in my opinion 1
no_better Posted August 30 Posted August 30 And then to share a 9.4 BNM score together with FKA twigs' Magdalene the same year……. My life has never been the same since 2
JoeAg Posted August 30 Posted August 30 giving it a listen right now since work is super slow and the lobby is quiet and girrrrrl this has aged like the FINEST of wines holy f*ck Venice B*tch flawless as ever
sparrowblue Posted August 30 Posted August 30 overhyped then and now. her early albums are better but were panned. but once she watered down everything everybody suddenly loved her.
