But usually her expanded editions are only digital. which is unfortunate because i'd give ANYTHING to have Nightmare physically on vinyl.
Mr. Peanutbutter Posted October 29 Posted October 29 The Letter to God trio **** me up every time. WHY 3
Lady Claire Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Charades is such a grower. I liked it on my 1st listen but grew on me a lot more and now i kinda of wanted it to be on the main album She said on Stationhead that she can't wait to perform this song at the tour so i assume she'll perform the bonus tracks too
Europe Posted October 29 Posted October 29 OMG Afraid of dark is better than 80% of the main album, she did something with this one
V$. Posted October 29 Posted October 29 I'm not old, but I am tired I'm one hundred ninety-six in dog years I have seen enough I've seen it all I've been a really good dog, can I come inside? Yeah, I've been such a good girl, can I go for a ride? I'm on a real short leash, but I like it tight You know I'm such a sweet girl, but I can really bite 2
HolyKatyPerry Posted October 29 Posted October 29 After multiple listens of the album, I think my top 3 (currently - & excluding all the songs that were already pre-released) are Hurt Feelings, Panic Attack, & Letter to God '98. Runner-ups are Darwinism, Hometown, & Only Living Girl in LA (although I truly don't think there is a single bad song on this album ) The whole album gets deeper the more you listen to it, IMO. Once you really start to digest/understand what she's saying in the lyrics
My20sBlues Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Listening to PJ Harvey's discography because Dog Years is my favorite song and omg, what an artist 1

RadioactiveLights Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Lol Fantano just dropped his review and he gave this a 1/10. Absolute joke
Pinksus Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Nice read Quote The ability to access different parts of oneself is tied to the empathic impulse, which emerges from the experience of vulnerability, lack of control, even trauma. Again we see that the LP's title is ironic, if not tongue-in-cheek. What Halsey accomplishes here, and with other work, is far from impersonation. She's like an actor who can access a broad field of emotions and motivations; i.e., Whitman's (and Dylan's) "I am multitudes". BPM - 85/100 https://beatsperminute.com/album-review-halsey-the-great-impersonator/ 1

Werk kings!!! 2
willmcclure9 Posted October 30 Posted October 30 My Blood Records vinyl arrived today, 601/1500. Its absolutely GORGEOUS..... probs the most stunning record in my collection.
Jamie Starr Posted October 30 Posted October 30 "What is Springsteen about the way this sounds? The airy synthesziers? faint rock drum beat and crowd noise in the background? Which doesn't sound like Springsteen. What It sounds like is you trying to recall the vibes of the one time you heard "Dancing in the Dark" years ago" "I guess it's fitting this album that this album is dropping toward the end of October, because so many of these trackss sound like bad Halloween costumes, musically speaking." 1

Young In Love Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Instead of posting my reply in that loser's review thread i'll just post it here this is just bullying... what has halsey even done lately to deserve such laughs? i really can't remember anyways after all the buzz i gave the album a listen myself yesterday and it was good? it tells her current story beautifully but it's so depressing sometimes, i don't see revisiting it a lot myself cuz i'm not in that headspace anymore. Also i could identify several used influences and they were spot on. Whoever said that none of the songs sound like the impersonated singer lied, i didn't hear the connection with only like 3 artists. I'd give an album a solid 8, 6 is the least it deserves. Standouts: Dog Years, Lonely is the Muse, Hometown and all the letters to God

RadioactiveLights Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Another edition is up on the website with Lucky (Stripped) and Hometown (Acoustic from Vevo) I'm guessing tomorrow will have the Vevo versions of Panic Attack and Ego to close out the tracking week
AvadaKedavra Posted October 30 Posted October 30 (edited) That halsey review from pitchfork and fantano is the grossest thing i ever seen in a while. I feel validated now how this guy was always problematic and people were giving him too much steam Can we stop giving power to bad people? Im buying her new record again and sharing the news about this record to all my besties. She's beautiful and doesnt deserve this disrespect I was not a fan of her in the past but now im full in i wanna listen all her records. Where should i start? Loved this one. Whats the next one? Those are some of her best tracks of her career Life of the Spider is so sad lyrically, like, this album was meant for Manic stans. 1

Do Manic next! Then you could touch BADLANDS or IICHLIWP. I personally recommend ending on a light note with HFK, which is an extremely popish record. Room 93 is also a cute EP but def has aged.
