original_lifeline Posted October 27 Posted October 27 lessons tolerates this album existence for me as a synth-pop gay
kyliefever2002 Posted October 27 Author Posted October 27 halsey sang the "nothing" outro lyrics in this video of the iichliwp making of
Digitalism Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Never liked a complete Halsey album but this one is great Hopefully she builds hype and this gets bigger 2
Bartender Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Honestly this album made me respect her as an artist, if she keeps going like this quality wise it'd be amazing 2
AshleyLovescats887 Posted October 27 Posted October 27 'Lessons' is way too ******* good to be a deluxe track, Halsey.. The label should have allowed her to have 22 songs on this album or at least 19 with this song 3
Burqa Posted October 27 Posted October 27 knowing her i'm sure the bonus tracks will be on streaming eventually but i hope it's sooner than later because they're amazing 1
psychodiva336 Posted October 27 Posted October 27 I do agree the deluxe tracks should become more widely accessible cause they're good songs but... I actually don't want them to be tacked onto the standard album They're all completely different from the other songs and they just don't fit sonically AT ALL. It's like they come from entirely different recording sessions, and I can definitely see why they're deluxe tracks. I just can't imagine listening to the album on shuffle and getting 'Alice of the Upper Class' right after, say, 'Letter to God (1974)'. And if they were all just slapped at the end after the final song, that would be awkward and ruin the outro and cohesiveness. I think they could be released separately - maybe on EPs, like 'Manic' and 'If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power' had these 5-6 track EPs? 1

makeawish Posted October 27 Posted October 27 hanging on before i buy a CD cos halsey does have a habit of releasing a proper bonus version in the end i think a lot of people are focusing on the lyrics cos it really does go that deep but i think one of the great things about this is that it's a gorgeous sounding record, full of really catchy pop rock songs and then you catch a line here or there and it's like woah
Lady Claire Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Lessons omg It sounds nothing like the rest of the album so i understand why it's a bonus but thankfully it was released!! A major bop
Lady Claire Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Also, Lucky (Stripped) is a Japanese bonus track. I'm using: 19. TBA (70s track to be released tmrw) 20. Lessons 21. Nothing! 22. Alice 23. Lucky (Stripped) 1
Jagger Posted October 27 Posted October 27 These 24 hour bonus tracks are so tacky and money-grabbing. Like what happened to the days of a standard and deluxe just being released on the same day? I didn't even realize these existed and now I've missed the first two. She better release them eventually anyways, great album! Dog Years is a career highlight! Though lyrically the album is a bit too on the nose 2 1
Lady Claire Posted October 27 Posted October 27 I wonder if she's releasing more content as bonuses for the rest of the week after the 70s song. I would love early drafts/demos of some tracks

Burqa Posted October 28 Posted October 28 i have a feeling that she might release a fifth bonus track that doesn't belong to any era (with a black sticker) 2
Achilles. Posted October 28 Posted October 28 I can't get over what a classic PANIC ATTACK is already.
HolyKatyPerry Posted October 28 Posted October 28 please, God, I don't wanna be sick And I don't wanna hurt so get it over with quick Please, God, I wanna be loved I don't wanna be somebody that you're tryna get rid of I can only imagine how much pain she has been going through the last few years of her life. I'm so glad she's still here and still able to give us music. 1

SchmoodRing Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Don't kill me but I want her to tack SO GOOD onto this album. I know some of you are fickle and switched on it cause yall are indifferent to her more commercial pop sound and it ended up unfortunately underperforming but the song is really special to me. When it came out it took on a autobiographical form and help me realize alot of clarities that I was repressing and denying and was a wake up call for me. If she could do it for Nightmare I hope that she does it with So Good. 2 1
