Also the great impersonator(track) is such a beautiful album closer literally left me floored and teary eyed Panic Attack, Only Living Girl in LA, The great Impersonator. But so hard, it keeps changing! 1
Anthinos Posted October 25 Posted October 25 The album is okay. I'm not a fan of this kind of ballads so it doesn't blow me away but the lyrics are good and I really liked the second half. Favorite songs: Darwinism (wow! ), Arsonist, Lucky. Overall: ~70/100

Miles. Posted October 25 Posted October 25 This is certainly another "arts not the charts" album a la IICHLIWP, but unlike that one, this album also feels like it's solely for her, and not even for the fans. There are so few melodies throughout the whole album that these are barely songs. They feel more like unfinished voicenotes that are at their earliest stages of production. And as much as I appreciate songwriting, I'm not going to listen to music that is, frankly, boring. Only two upbeat songs on an 18 track album is not my vibe. The only songs I really like are Lonely Is The Muse, Ego, Dog Years, and Hometown. Life Of The Spider and Arsonist could have been amazing with better production. I'm happy for her that she was able to use music to process her struggles, and I look forward to her next work. I still love her first four albums. 2 3 7

Those are fully realized songs, they are just mostly ballads… just bc something is not a bop, doesn't mean it's a unfinished voice note 12 1

Brat is kind of the exact opposite of this album, and both are too extreme for me. TTPD is a good example of an album that combines impeccable songwriting and catchy melodies. 2 minutes ago, Kern said: Those are fully realized songs, they are just mostly ballads… just bc something is not a bop, doesn't mean it's a unfinished voice note I love a power ballad... just not 16 straight that have been stripped down to the barest bones. --- To each their own! Kern Posted October 25 Posted October 25 It takes guts to make an album like this… Death is the most taboo topic. We don't like to talk about our mortality and think about dying too much. But it will happen eventually. My grandma is becoming more sick in time and sometimes I feel terrified about it. Sometimes I feel terrified about the fact that I also might become seriously sick one day and that I will die one day either way. I think this album will become more and more impactful for people in time, it's obvious that not everyone might be in the mood now to listen to songs about literally dying but at some point all of us might need it 6

Hitchhiker Posted October 25 Posted October 25 This is a great album Ego panic attack the end Lonely of the Muse Hurt feelings are my favourites
Scandalous Posted October 25 Posted October 25 for an album with so many influences it actually feels quite cohesive, mostly gives '90s singer-songwriter vibes with the exception of a few songs i liked this a lot more than i expected, it drags in the middle with the slower songs but the run from Darwinism to Hurt Feelings is fantastic. i like Dog Years & Panic Attack too and of course Ego 2
homosexual_behaviour Posted October 25 Posted October 25 i find hurt feelings relatable on a deeply personal level 1
americanlife Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Such a great album. I hope she gets a lot of success with this because it's an excellent project.
hallucinate Posted October 25 Posted October 25 unfortunately this album is not for me, i still liked a few songs though dog years panic attack the end lonely is the muse arsonist wishing her success
sweetkiss Posted October 25 Posted October 25 i am shocked. gagged. on the floor. i got chills almost every second listening to this album. shes so honest and raw. this could be one of the best albums of all time. just this verse summed up abusive father and impact it has on a child: My dad is almost home, I can't tell time yet but I know Because the air becomes electric and my mother cleans the stove He'll walk in through the door and both my eyes will find the floor And I will search my brain to find something I might get yelled at for He'll come in with a frown and tell me, "Sit your ass right down" Or he might get his kicks from joking that he's just playin' around And in a few years I will leave, but I'll perpetually believe That any man who says he loves me is hidin' somethin' up his sleeve 3
xperience30 Posted October 25 Posted October 25 It might be her best album . Highlights for now : Dog days Arsonist Panic attack Life of a spider The great impersonator
sweetkiss Posted October 25 Posted October 25 for me the best songs are: i never loved you i believe in magic life of the spider hurt feelings the end
MidnightsAtPeace Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Just finished listening to it, and I just wanna say that she wrecked me. I wept listening to the album so bad. AOTY worthy and I'm not even joking. 15 out of 18 songs on the album ended up in my Liked Songs and I hadn't enjoyed an album on my initial listen like this for the longest time. 90/100 and I'm being conservative She deserves so much in her personal life and her career. 2
Bussea Posted October 25 Posted October 25 This album is fantastic. ANYONE who denies her artistry and her place in music after this is severely brain rotten and alice in the upper class is a ******* BANGER how was this not on the album!?!?!?! 3
Roger Posted October 25 Posted October 25 I wonder how Sky Ferreira feels now about calling Halsey a thief and a copy cat of her artistry back in the day. I love Sky and (met her in person) she was the loveliest, but oh man she is now way so behind Ashley in every single way. I'm so impressed by Ashley's artistry and I'm so proud of her doing so much in so little time. Work ethics and hard work always pay off and I hope that Sky someday realizes that blaming others for our own setbacks (along with mental diseases and substance abuse, including myself having those issues) will never end up well. 5
Dark.Poet Posted October 25 Posted October 25 It's quite interesting concept for the album. Out of the songs I've heard so far - I really enjoy listening to Ego and I Never Loved You.
