Princess Aurora Posted August 27 Posted August 27 No because Disney always gave us the best pop stars
Relampago. Posted August 27 Posted August 27 I keep forgetting Sabrina was on Disney, I thought this was gonna be about Olivia and Miley.. like yeah I guess they smashed hard together in 2023 but weird to bring it up at the end of Q3 2024
KBax Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Not really surprised, Disney has obviously created great pop stars. Britney, Christina, Hilary Duff, Miley, Demi, & Selena. I think what helped as well is that Olivia's HSM and Girls Meets World weren't as big as Camp Rock, Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place so they had less of a hard time trying to break the Disney image. Not many people really knew that's where they started out from, myself included. I always thought Olivia was a TikTok influencer Do I think the Demi/Miley/Selena era helped? To an extent yes. I feel like as time went on especially with these 3 specifically people realized there was way more to them than just being from Disney. Which helped take a bit of the stigma away.
Joey307 Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Justice for Bridgit Mendler cause I still bop to Hurricane, Ready or Not, City Lights, and Top of the World regularly
SlimyGhoul Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Honestly I think that Miley broke out in a way that Demi and Selena were never *quite* able to do with their music. They've had some hits, yeah, but they didn't grab hold of the zeitgeist the way that Miley did. Happy for Sabrina and Olivia!

She's not ruling anymore lol. For you have to be considered 'ruling', you should be churning out hit after hit 2
hindsight Posted August 27 Posted August 27 idk... I don't think most ppl even think of these two as Disney acts tbh, Miley/Selena/Demi had bigger roles/ tv shows/movies as Disney girls, and their association not being as strong probably helped Olivia and Sabrina to be taken more seriously.

Once she comes back, she will easily be topping charts left and right again. And Miley... well... I said she was the closest to their level because of Bangerz and PITUSA/Flowers but other than that, she's never had an era as successful as SOUR or SNS. Also she's been flopping since Flowers so she's not ruling anything sadly. Edited August 27 by thatsmydemi
