LastKiss Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Everything went downhill the moment she released the album cover that shark really ate her up 1 1
Dula Peep Posted August 30 Posted August 30 As others have said, the album is actually good, it's just too short and lacks maybe 2-3 more good bops…. also the disconnect between the singles and the album cover/name …it was just not as clever/deep or interesting as Future Nostalgia if the album cover was just a good glamour shot of her face I'm sure it would've sold more 1

BB200 #153 Future Nostalgia Endless Winter Depression N/A OUT Despite Flowers being a bigger hit than any song on Future Nostalgia, Miley fails to outchart a four year old album. Yes it truly cost us! 11
Blackout2006 Posted August 31 Posted August 31 (edited) i feel bad for dua welp It's not over for her though, the era was just a step in the wrong direction. I'm confident she will bounce back with the next album, especially since dance-pop and upbeat music have only become bigger. Edited August 31 by Blackout2006 1

Yes it truly cost us! congrats on miss dula's smash album that ended up being a fluke i guess? where's the same amount of attention or news & media for Radical Pessimism? exactly. down the drain along with all the budget that dula's dada wasted over her floppage i liked the album. but you know damn well i was talking about how the clown came back to bite after the Little Lipsters dragged Mooley through the mud once ESV's numbers came out. i'm pretty sure Mooley will be okay since not only Flowers's 7th day streams alone outstreamed the entire Radical Pessimism but also ESV was able to chart the entire album on Spotify WW. + the album was able to snatch 2 Top 10 debuts and she didn't even lift a finger to outsell the poor vacationer globally. if y'all never learn, be prepared for another failure alberm! 1
BrokenMachine Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Even Dua stopped caring about this album after first week. I'm sure the good sis @Yes, AND is more aware about everything going on this era than Dua herself 1 1

She released remix after remix, acoustic versions, live versions, a million performances, videos, an extended version of the album. Dua cared , A LOT. 1

argentite Posted September 1 Posted September 1 I'll never understand why she had a song called "Houdini" and another called "Illusion" and went with a beach/pool theme instead of magic/illusion theme. 4
Sawk Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Album title grew on me, but it was VERY corny to me when it was first released. IMO, that hurt the marketability since it sounds kinda like a cheap faux-introspective self help yoga book. Second, the album cover doesn't match at all with the singles released beforehand, there's this huge disconnect between the visual aesthetics and the musical sonic aesthetics. Third, Houdini and Training Season just didn't click with the GP like we would have hoped. I think Houdini being released right before Christmas was a huge mistake, it could've become a bigger hit after Christmas time during the year, that or Training Season to kick off the era since the fatties love to work out in January as part of their New Year's resolution. All in all, I did enjoy the actual music from Rad Op, people did way too much in the beginning, but it was kinda warranted since she promised something that was way more experimental than what we ended up getting. 1

Yeah, that stuff that can be done by her team without Dua having to lift a finger.
