The interviewer is hot so she's forgiven :hippo:

But really, good for her. It's just a shame that she is finally in a place where she can do whatever she wants and what she wants to do is doing the same stuff she did 14 years ago.

Girl please flop in silence. She handled Witness and Smile much better.

Did she? I still have PTSD from Witness :suburban:

She's not wrong but the message would have landed better if she bombed because she released an experimental opus. She absolutely has room to prove herself artistically and sonically. WW and Lifetimes could easily fit on deluxe versions of Prism, Witness and/or Smile.

I don't believe for a second she doesn't care about success, BUT I am actually willing to believe that the dance-pop / KPSEX direction is genuine and not an AR'd / Capitol'd plan to attract the WeHo gays. Mostly because even her antiquated team would tell her that this sound is not popping now and that she should chase the Espresso buzz or make Hot n' Cold 2.0. Like... she's been trying HARD to beat the female Maroon 5 allegations and this record makes sense in a cvntification / campification process next to Witness.

I just wish she made that dance-pop record with anyone else. We needed the mood board to be Confessions on a Dance Floor, Rennaissance and Future Nostalgia, not Problematique and Heidi Montag

'Superficial' is a fantastic, underrated pop record, leave Heidi out of this!

If you really have to tell everyone at every possible opportunity that you're unbothered, then are you really unbothered?

So she wasn't trying to prove anything with WW?! She was just trying to harass us all along?! :storm:

yet you ran back to dr luke an alleged abuser with the hope of getting another hit. oh how the tables turn. as soon as you flop, you have nothing else to prove. i guess congrats for that 6 years career

Objectively speaking, she does have something to prove. All of her accomplishments are from nearly 15 years ago, and she hasn't been able to create or maintain any kind of relevance since then. She should be proud of her accomplishments, but those accomplishments don't mean anything in the current day. You can't set out to create an album that is very clearly trying to recapture past glories and then be like, "I don't care about past glories" when you fail. Just be honest instead of defensive.

Genuinely asking, but why would her accomplishments mean nothing in the current day? Especially since her older hits and album are still doing very well on the charts

this woman doesn't have a brain cell left in her brain. if you didn't care this whole time then WHY would you go back to working with dr luke and ruining your legacy?

Well at least she's conscious that her career as a musician is over

She still needs to prove to us that she can make an excellent album that isn't watered down to appeal to pop radio/playlists. Hopefully that's the next one.

While this is a great sentiment, she's alluded to contesting that she's not a flop. So it seems sort of… contradictory?

Not this actually being a better fit for the Ibiza - Barcelona - Los Angeles rich tanned gays in neon jockstraps that she's been trying to sell Lifelines too :deadbanana2: It was bad for her

She achieved a lot without having any talent, being insufferable, and making horrendous music. I'd be happy as well.

Then why did you try to replicate your past glories?

At least retire with dignity
