Rihinvention Posted August 27 Posted August 27 (edited) She also needs to increase the storytelling in her lyrics. Start dropping details about who/what/when/where. I've said it before, but the fact that you can't tell if a song is about Anwar, Trevor, Jack, Romain or Callum is kinda crazy. Fans love that sh*t. I swear 'thank u, next' shot to #1 for its opening verse alone. Miley, Taylor, Gaga, Olivia, Sabrina, etc…we know who they're singing about. If Dua wants listeners to have a personal connection to her music, she's going to have to get a bit more personal herself. Edited August 27 by Rihinvention 4

This is excellent advice, and it's one of the reasons that Sabrina is doing so wells is because she's telling stories that are unique to her, not random heartbreak songs with generic lyrics that yeah anyone can identify with but fail to capture the attention beyond that. It will help with making hits and an FU to the "faceless" drags Edited August 27 by modeblock 1
katara Posted August 27 Posted August 27 She needs some standalone smash singles/collabs to correct course. Cold Heart did that for example after everything after Levitating (Potion- Sweetest Pie - Demeanor - We're Good) flopped.
