Brooklyn Baby Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Radical Optimism was released three months ago and the era is already over. Dua Lipa needs to course-correct, but how soon should she drop new singles for the new era and when should she drop the album? Should she release DL4 early next year or take two years off to create the new album? Thots? 1
KillingYourCareer Posted August 26 Posted August 26 The streaming era tactic is releasing collabs and random songs hoping something sticks, and then attaching everything to the album to inflate the SPS units. 2 12
IBeMe Posted August 26 Posted August 26 She needed to course correct yesterday. DL4 should come late 2025 imo or early 2026 at the latest. More so late 2025 tho. The sooner the better 1
Triton Posted August 26 Posted August 26 She needs to take a vacation and come back next summer. It wouldn't hurt to do a big name/DJ Collab this fall. 1 2
KatyPrismSpirit Posted August 26 Posted August 26 no later than q4 2025 if she wants to repair the damage

Strawberry Bubble Posted August 26 Posted August 26 She should drop it NOW. Yesterday was already too late No, I'm just kidding. I think she should come back in one year or two. 1
Gelato Posted August 26 Posted August 26 April or May 2025, she can't afford a long break if commercial success is still her main aim 1
Bartender Posted August 26 Posted August 26 I'd like an extension of the current era first and then she can start course correcting RO feels underrated already imo 3

TOKYO. Posted August 26 Posted August 26 i hate that she released an experimental album (yes sue me please) and yall and the GP were not listening. but she can sell out glastonbury.... so people just want the electro pop songs from dua 3 2
supertiffany Posted August 26 Posted August 26 she needs a single that is very relatable like Levitating or Dont Start Now Future Nostalgia has lyrics that are very gp friendly

Imagine if she'd actually served psychedelic meets Britpop and pulled it off. That would've been a huge talking point that this pretty standard pop girl delivered something really left field. What we actually got was a very bland pop album, full of midtempo playlist filler. 7 2
Rihinvention Posted August 26 Posted August 26 (edited) I'm so passionate about this topic (insert Trisha Paytas screaming "I'm so happy someone made a f***ing video about this") Q1 2025, definitely — Q2 at the latest. I'm a big believer in moving on from your flops (or underperformances) ASAP so that your star power doesn't fade. 18 months between 'Dance The Night' and DL4's lead is still close enough for people to think "Dua dominates disco." But this album isn't strong enough to sustain a 3 year cycle. She needs to be in the studio, like, now. Sweep it under the rug and keep it moving. People will grow to appreciate Radical Optimism in due time, but she needs to get back on top ASAP, especially as a UK MPG. Edited August 26 by Rihinvention 9 1
poki Posted August 26 Posted August 26 2024 / 2025 = focus on tour 2027 / 2028 = new album New tracks don't do much on US charts but the tour dates sell out so that's what's the focus is on. A play from Cher's 2000s book. I've fully accepted that by now.
Oktober Knight Posted August 26 Posted August 26 As much as I love RO, I do think a rushed DANCE album should be released soon to coincide with her tour next year. She can absolutely bounce back. 1
Augmented Posted August 26 Posted August 26 DL4 can wait, she needs to craft a really strong deluxe/Side B for RO to get people back on board again. Admittedly she doesn't have the best track record with deluxe editions but this could be a chance to course correct.

Paddy Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Release delixe Radicalistic Optimism with 11 new songs, whole new poppy sound and few collabs.
Tm4074 Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Dua really needs to make an album that excites the GP since she doesn't have much of a fanbase. I think she's most likely to be Katy'd if she doesn't course correct soon. And with Chappell and Sabrina breaking through in a huge way she has competition in the playful, fun pop music lane that she didn't really have before. She needs to take pointers from Rihanna not Katy moving forward lol. 2 1
