KatyPrismSpirit Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Do you agree with Pitchfork's assessments of these recent pop girl albums? Charli xcx — Brat: 8.6 Beyoncé — Cowboy Carter: 8.4 Sabrina Carpenter — Short n' Sweet: 8.0 Ariana Grande — eternal sunshine: 7.2 Chappell Roan — Midwest Princess: 7.2 Billie Eilish — Hit Me Hard and Soft: 6.8 Dua Lipa — Radical Optimism: 6.6 Taylor Swift — Tortured Poets: The Anthology: 6.0 2 4 1 9
tellem Posted August 26 Posted August 26 So the ones that didn't blow up recently got their worst scores in years
Popular Post Nico Robin Posted August 26 Popular Post Posted August 26 Charli honestly did that Her album being the most acclaimed makes the most sense considering the vulnerable themes and extreme sounds explored on the album. Sabrina is way too high She should switch with Billie tbh 18 1
Shimenawa Posted August 26 Posted August 26 (edited) They did Billie wrong, they look like haters Taylor last seems right, she needs to release better music Edited August 26 by Shimenawa 7 8 1
sunbathinganimal Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Sabrina is 2 points too high but other than that they kinda spilled 3
Arrows Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Chappell, Billie and Taylor released the best albums, so they're wrong 11
BlackoutZone Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Tyla and Ice Spice randomly getting inflated scores too. That GQ merch isn't giving. Billie score is just absurd 2
cyberraga Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Eh CC is kind of weak compared to Renaissance so I don't agree with that. best album on this list is Chappell and Billie 2 1 2
PoisonedIvy Posted August 26 Posted August 26 No I do not agree with Pitchfork. They're entitled to their opinion though <3 Metacritic never really has any bearing on how I feel about music. Like, at all. It's only good for watching an artists relationship with critics over the course of their career tbh. Just like award shows are good for tracking an artists relationship with their fans and/or their peers, depending on the award show, over the years. 4 1 1
Post Malone Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Spilled but Cowboy Carter needs to be next to Dua and Taylor 5 1 7
Mickie Posted August 26 Posted August 26 I agree with TTPD's placement, although this abomination of an album should fall in 30-40 bracket at best. Awful writing, mediocre melodies, no vocal delivery, and tired visuals. Brat >>> HMHAS ≥ Midwest Princess > CC > ES > Short n' Sweet ≥ RO > TTPD. 6 4
liam13 Posted August 26 Posted August 26 i dont agree nor disagree with them. the scores are their opinions and i dont have to agree nor disagree cuz i have mine. but its funny how yall collectively agree that they're right about ttpd and wrong about hmhas 3
BGKC Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Billie is a solid 8 imo. Everything else is more or less valid. 3
Petra von Kant Posted August 26 Posted August 26 (edited) Brat>CC>TRAFOAMP>HMHAS>ES>SNS>TTPD>RO (Was heavily debating whether TTPD or RO should be in the last place, but then i remembered that clara bow is on ttpd so ro ended up where it is) Edited August 26 by Petra von Kant

mike_int Posted August 26 Posted August 26 You are really giving too much credit to these "critics" Their opinion doesn't have more value than any other person online. Taste is subjective. Plus ... when you are reviewing something as a job, everybody is bribeable
Gov Hooka Posted August 26 Posted August 26 (edited) Actually yeah lol. I would maybe put chappell slightly above Ariana grande edit: whoops didn't see Sabrina carpenter so high yikes. She's below billie. Nvm Edited August 26 by Gov Hooka
