Yeah mte. I believe Espresso was actually a standalone single at first but after the whirlwind of success they decided to release an album. It did definitely pay off tho.

Yes, she even said this herself when she released espresso. It was thought as a standalone single for the summer.

I think that considering this, they planned the era very well tbh. And now she has the tour coming in one month, which will help a bit with the album longevity

Maybe she should have kept that fame for her own album

Which outstreamed this one with a hit half as big as espresso and two local follow ups. Stop dragging Olivia. She pulled better numbers in her so called flop era and the album is having longevity. Try booking that 300k+ opening week next album

Yeah but at that point they should have capitalized on the immense hype she had in June/July and her streaming might have even beat Billie's first day.

So are we going to just start projecting? The hype for this whole project never touched Billie's. If anything giving time to PPP was great because it proved Espresso was no fluke summer hit and Sabrina had more in her bag. This album is not as consistent as Billie's. People will clearly stick to their favorites and singles and give it legs

Happy Sabrina is finding success, although the album as a whole ain't strong enough for me the single choices have been a 10/10 situation. Hopefully she releases Juno next

That's it ? If the whole album had the same quality as Espresso and PPP i bet she could have made a debut over 70M. 57M is fine, but considering she has two of the biggest songs of the year still smashing, + the Taste's music video is excellent, smart and viral thanks to Jenna Ortega, every ingredients are there to make Taste smash as hard as the two others singles.

It's probably her peak, so 57M is underwhelming considering the context and the hype.

Longevity is what matters so she could very much be incredibly stable though.

even Miley wasn't able to capitalize off Flowers the way Sabrina did with Espresso

I mean... Sabrina is a new girl. Everybody knew Miley already so there's more interest for Sabrina right now that there was for Miley when Flowers stormed the world.

Crazy numbers for Sabrina. The way she's exploded has been incredible. Her team has done incredible too :clap3:

WOW she really ate that. So happy for her :clap3:

Also I can potentially see Taste rising throughout the week and then hitting #1, just like PPP did. :clap3:

She teased the 8/23 album release date on a magazine even before Espresso came out, also shot the album photoshoot and the Please Please Please video beforehand too (and referenced a lot of the songs lyrics on her Coachella set).

Everything was planned and ready to go in advance, nothing was rushed. The little something before coachella tweet was never meant to indicate it was a droplet/stand alone.

70m would be the third biggest debut ever by a female (outside Taylor), do you even hear yourself :skull:

She debuted with 17 times more than her last album.

this is good, Sabrina is still a new artist (to the GP) after all, and I reckon it will have good holds throughout the week as more people hop on and have a listen. she's not gonna suddenly do 80m out of the gate :skull:

It's a real life version of her Taste video. She and Olivia both debuting with huge smash albums while no one has thought of Joshua since 2021.

Espresso is bottom 2 or 3 and PPP is in the middle of the album quality wise :celestial5:

57M is incredible and it will have excellent holds.

Really crazy how she got bigger and bigger with E-Mails and then exploded this year :clap3:

Sabrina Carpenter becoming a major MPG :deadbanana4: who would've thought during SOUR

Deserved tho, Esrpesso is a BOP and she delivered a really cute album :clap3:

Her singles made sure her album got attention and it did! :clap3:

my thoughts too. when PPP dropped and the album pre order came i already thought august 23rd was too far away a bit. i think it would've been better if it dropped early july.

I think so too. But, I think delaying the album with single #3 is smarter long term. PPP got to build up as a major hit on its own, and now Taste will probably be a smash single #3 with potential for a 4th single. She's still a newer artist to the GP, so I think getting hit radio singles is gonna do wonders for her long term.

How does this compare to non-Taylor debuts? And especially I guess Ariana/Olivia/Billie/Bey's as I'd guess she's closest to that tier rn

Both Billie and Beyonce share two of the highest debuts (72 million and 76 million) so Sabrina's figures are really good.

No :rip:This is a leap of around 96 per cent from her last album's debut. 57 million is amazing for Sabrina and the era
