Katy & Dr. Luke's Lifetimes misses Hot 100 debut

exactly.  A one day radio deal and a couple of TikTok ads doesn't equate to "highly promoted".  It had literally no playlisting or streaming push at all.  Still a huge flop nonetheless, but let's not act like they got everything lined up for a great rollout.  They messed it all up again.

The rollout is confusing. Katy was in Europe modelling dresses in the weeks before WW dropping, then it dropped and there was radio silence, tragic playlisting and she went on holidays straight away.

Gurl stop blatantly lying, there was no autoplay or playlisting. WW peaked with 50k reach and Lifetimes with 27k. Sure cos a party in a gay bar in Barcelona did a lot for her in the US LOL. Try harder.

I don't think I'm the one trying hard precisely :toofunny2:

The numbers are RIGHT THERE. Her hits from 2010 have more playlisting.

So you're saying WW didn't get a first week push or radio deals? I'm not the typical chart obsessed ATRLer so I don't know about numbers but as a consumer of pop music the song was everywhere, at least for that week alone. And Katy also made sure to get a decent amount of hype and exposure building up to the release. From what I observed it was all set and ready for the song to have a strong start.

Btw I'm not a hater, I have no intention of dragging her or anything. I'm just observing.

Womans world peaked with a playlist reach of 50m  . Hot n cold currently has 65 m reach so no there was no push of any significance.

Its radio peaked at 12 million a month after its release, songs that are no 1 on radio have up to 80 million so nope.

Could you please expand on the "everywhere " you claim the song to have been ?

It makes no sense to me to compare the playlisting of a new song to the playlisting of a pop classic known by everyone or a song that is #1 on the charts currently.

Also comparing the radio reach of a new song (that nobody likes) to a number one song that is being requested and people like to hear...

Labels can be great support but they're not magicians.

Thanks for confirming that you just don't understand and your claim that womans world was "everywhere " was just you talking out your rear end lol

She's really taking JLO's purse for most panned artist of the year

3 way race between those two and Cameltoe Cabello.

Lifetimes is a good song. Maybe not the freshest sound but it's catchy and euphoric. Happy it has a bridge too, something that Woman's World felt really incomplete without. I wonder if things would have happened differently had they released Lifetimes as the lead single instead.

Kats now saying not enough promo or playlisting as if that would have saved either of the two TURDS she put out :bibliahh: they should be grateful with what they got since more exposure would only result in more lashings :giraffe:

It's sad because it's not like the song didn't get enough exposure, just the wrong exposure.

I hope her album has some songs not produced by dr. Luke, but two released so far in a row has me worried…

It's not luke, the songs Katy is releasing are just plain bad and that is all. These days literally unknown artists chat it's not Luke it's simply Katy and her songs being 0/10.

I disagree. I think it's the hate bandwagoning that's happening. Earlier in the year it was Jlo's album and now it's happening to Katy. Social media response can hugely affect an artist (and any brand tbh). Even if people would like the song they'd a) be turned off from liking it bc it's seen as supporting an accused SA or b) people would not check it out at all because of the controversy.

yes, Luke has had many other credits on other songs, but this Katy era has gotten the most press + attention about working with Luke.

Compared to someone like Kim Petras for example who is like 1/10 as famous. Katy's brand is just on another level compared to the others. She was a household name, she's held on a different pedestal and is inevitably going to have more eyes on her every move. she should have known that before working with Luke.
