judasmonster Posted August 19 Posted August 19 This era has been satisfying to us fans cause it's her best album yet. She has actually fed us pretty well if you look closely. Just because the spotlight hasn't been on her the entire year doesn't mean the era has been disappointing. I personally am happy this is the case because it as been exhausting seeing all the unnecessary hate on her and things made up about her. 6
Zaynsus Posted August 19 Posted August 19 It depends. Commercially, yes, I guess. The album didn't have much longevity, the era came and went. But thank God she delivered with the music. I wish we had more singles though... supernatural, true story, eternal sunshine... 1
By the Water Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Multiple singles with music videos, remixes and televised performances... Just because it didn't have big results doesn't mean she didn't try
elincomprendid Posted August 19 Posted August 19 In todays climate to get 3 MVs logical remixes and a pre-release is a lot for an era so any arianator should be thankful if any "fan" is disappointed is just cause of they are chart focused and don't really care about the era itself

Shelter Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Seems she is the only trying. Eras are boring these days, the fun of following pop stars seems over.
Bey_Rihstan Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Eternal sunshine gave 2 of her best MV's, is one of her best albums (Best for me), resurrected Brandy and Monica (i'm biased here) for a remix, got a Mariah remix, multiple promo spots/performances etc dds Positions is her most bland era. Barely any performances, 2 just ok videos etc 1
Katamari Posted August 19 Posted August 19 As a somewhat oah honestly what more could you want other that live performances
Dialamba Posted August 19 Posted August 19 (edited) She did what she has to she did more this era than tun Edited August 19 by Dialamba
needs Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Extremely. But her heart's just clearly not in promoting and doing shows etc anymore. A slight shame considering how good the music is but, people change.
MP3 Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Like others said she did way more than others for that era, it has two #1 singles, 3 nice videos, a decent selling album, it's just missing world tour and it would be a great era 2
Popboi. Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I mean, she did more this era than she did for Positions. Everyone already came to terms she's never going to heavily promote again, all this era is missing is a tour.
shinyshimmery Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I guess she made the album knowing she wasn't going to promote it. The songs are pretty mid, but it did help me a lot while I was going through a breakup. I think it was also therapy for her, hopefully the next one is better and she's actually in the mood to promote. When "Yes, and?" dropped, I thought she was gonna go hard with the era... but sadly, no.
UnusualBoy Posted August 19 Posted August 19 It's weird because even though it feels the era came and went, she did gave us 3 proper singles with videos so idk.
OrgVisual Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I feel like Ariana was unlucky that she was the first to release before a bunch of high-profile releases this year. And her spotlight got "stolen" a bit.
PrettyHurts Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Slightly. It's a good album but it's all a little boring 1
State of Grace. Posted August 19 Posted August 19 (edited) It's her best album and best era in ages. Not sure from where some of you get these crazy expectations, especially for Ariana lmao. I would actually go ahead and say she had the best era by a MPG this year. She gave us 3 MVs, several performances, interviews, 3 cute remixes, etc. Meanwhile, Beyonce went MIA. Taylor dropped TTPD and moved on to the tour outside of her casual variants ****. Dua's era was a mess. Billie had a great album but the visuals are meh, could be better overall. Charli had the best era by far but I'm not sure if I'd consider her a MPG. Edited August 19 by State of Grace. 4
aotwbys Posted August 20 Posted August 20 I'm not her fan at all, but in a way this whole boring album somehow managed to detract from the drama surrounding her bf's babymommy mess, so winning
Into The Void Posted August 20 Posted August 20 Not when songs like the boy is mine, supernatural and bye exist
unclefloprry Posted August 20 Posted August 20 unpopular opinion, but I think she could have had her FN era with this album. Many of the songs screamed "potential hit" and the initial reception of the album proves it. But the girl is lazy.
