TUN Ariana was just so fun and energetic and careless but it looks that she turned into an introvert. 
 

The music is also not so amazing WCBF is great but all the other songs are disappointing compared to TUN.

it's art, success isn't measured commercially when she has other endeavors paying her bills

it's always the random ones you've never spotted in the base nor seen engaging in a conversation about her who are loud with their big mouths expressing concern as if they were her biggest fans

To my understanding the album was never planned and just sort of happened, so just be glad she released an album at all.  It could have easily been a 5-6 year wait for the follow-up to Positions otherwise.

i will also say that I was very shocked and taken aback TBIM did not take off and be the summer smash….half a decade ago this would be an easy #1 for her.

this era has been fun honestly, she's gave her best visuals (rivaling sweetener atp) and the album is her most realized

 

also, tun era, she was literally talking about how depressed she was all the time and crying onstage a lot…..how was that more fun?

No, it's a flawless album, her best to date, and a commercial success, who brought her back at the top of the game. Deluxe is coming.

The album was great. Her problem is the Glinda image not resonating with her music. It's a very jarring contrast to what the public was used to seeing with her. Not a disappointment though, she did some of her best music videos and actually did some interviews this era. Already way better than Positions comparatively. She's just presenting herself too polished/PR now because she's promoting a big budget movie. Pop star persona needs some edge which she is kinda lacking right now. Hopefully the Glinda persona is retired for good after Wicked (Part 1). Tbh the day she goes back to brunette the fandom will rejoice lmao.

I don't get it. I think she should have what Billie is having at the moment ( tbh " we can't be friends" is such a good song, I find "birds of feathers"  to be quite boring ) but I guess the GP chose otherwise.
