Plus its a generational album. Its not overrated. It has a 79 on Metacritic. Honestly, this is expected coming from them. The album became a classic, shifted pop music, created a whole new generation of young female artist alongside other albums, but at the time they gave it a 60/100. They didn't like it as much as others, and that's fine. This would never erase its impact, which is all we should care for honestly. Charts and reviews don't represent impact very often anyways. 1
Kimi Posted August 12 Posted August 12 You know what? As much as I disagree with certain picks i really like the idea. Overrated lists should be more common. 1

LOL PH is definitely not one, but so many bad/mid albums became classics and inspired a whole generation. One thing doesn't exclude the other. Dangerously In Love, In The Zone, Born To Die, Stripped... they all were trashed by so-called critics, but still were able to influence a lot of artists to this day now…….. 16 minutes ago, bielneira said: The others I don't care, but I would add: Lady Gaga - The Fame Monster EP Lana Del Rey - Chemtrails, BB, Ocean Blvd Beyoncé - COWBOY CARTER Taylor Swift - Lover, Midnights Fiona Apple - Fetch The Bold Cutters Bjork - Homogenic i see ur upset abt the lorde entry but lets not start naming anything.

Why would I be upset? hahaha they gave PH a 60, they didn't like it it's okay. I just don't know why Lana fans are getting that brave when they rated BTD a 40 out of 100 like....... do you really think they have credibility?
Jump Posted August 12 Posted August 12 The praise for American Life is a lovely surprise I kind of agree with Confessions being on here. If they had said Ray of Light, it would be another story

Cruel Summer Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Picking TTPD is very telling that they're after clicks and not actually putting forth a serious thought.
nightowl Posted August 12 Posted August 12 (edited) Unreliable when they omitted Beyonce. Her lyrics are cheap and albums are overrated. Duh. Edited August 12 by nightowl 1
Soda Pop Queen Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Quote 25. Madonna – Confessions on a Dance Floor I've been saying it's overrated and overhyped for years so finally someone co-signs my flopinion. I love it 1
nightowl Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Independent themselves are so overrated. Coad??? I'm flushing it.
GraceRandolph Posted August 12 Posted August 12 (edited) 4 hours ago, The Music Industry said: I kinda fail to see how they'd consider TTPD overrated. Almost no one is claiming it's Taylor's best record, and the album already had mixed reviews on arrival..? No one has to say it's Taylor's best for the album to still be considered overrated.
