Trent W Posted August 12 Posted August 12 HMHAS is AOTY From this list CC is the best album, but I don't think it will have a chance at winning unless Beyonce revives the era somehow
theoghon Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Charli is HURTLING towards that AOTY nom, it's a guarantee based on the zeitgeist, yet still unexpected i would consider it third-in-line after ty,n & FN - a kind of noticeable platforming of records catered to the hyper-online queer music community 2
ThousandMiles Posted August 12 Posted August 12 CC is the better album but because Bey abandons her projects she doesn't deserve AOTY. Brat is the defining album of Summer '24 so it's very deserved. 1
blueberries Posted August 12 Posted August 12 only ttpd deserves, brat is a twitter meme and cowboy carter is a non event 2 1
nadiamendell Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Even though TTPD has apparently been #1 for a long time (mainly due to all of the ridiculous variants) it really just feels like a non-event and has had no impact on popular culture. Brat deserves with CC as runner up. 1 3
Taylor fanboy Posted August 12 Posted August 12 All Born Screaming I need Annie to campaign though. 1
Jay07 Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Hit Me Hard And Soft will win, possibly Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess if Chappell's insane momentum continues. Out of the ones mentioned CC is the better album but Beyonce abandoned it and it didn't even get a tour so it's probably not on voters minds at all. 2
Petra von Kant Posted August 12 Posted August 12 even tho I think brat is the best album out of the bunch it shoud be cowboy carter cuz realistically as much as I would love it to happen , I don't see brat winning AOTY, at least in this universe. yes i'm pretty sure it will get a nomination and I can easily see it getting the electronic/dance category but not an AOTY. the scammys aren't ready, even now so it should be bey, she's a living legend but has no aoty and she deserves at least one in her career (even tho it should have been 3, self titled, lemoande and renaissance) even if that's not her strongest album (still amazing tho) 1
badidearight Posted August 12 Posted August 12 taylor has four so she can wait for her fifth rooting for ariana, chappell or vampire weekend
Human Fly Posted August 12 Posted August 12 TTPD is US version of BTS , i mean nobody knows it exist outside of her fanbase. CC , people only used it for a week? i think. Very forgotten and very frontloaded. and these 2 shouldnt even be nominated to begin with. BRAT is the moment its new, fresh and exciting. She's giving her all. And its the most acclaimed album of this year. 2 1

You cant just hand the aoty to her because she deserved it for her past work? thats not revelant and its not a lifetime achievement award or smth. be for real. CC let alone aoty it wasnt even album of that month.
AshleyLovescats887 Posted August 12 Posted August 12 I feel like 'eternal sunshine', 'BRAT' and 'HIT ME HARD AND SOFT' have the highest chances of winning. I feel like if 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT' won, everyone would probably cause World War (Taylor's Version) (From The Stan Twitter Vault), which would be very chaotic but fun

Brat deserves with CC as runner up. The way y'all just say anything and act as if it's rooted in reality is genuinely funny. If the Billboard 200 was solely based on streams and pure sales and variants didn't exist, then TTPD would still have been the #1 album for 11 weeks, more than any other female album in nearly a decade. Based on streams alone, it still would have been #1 when Billie, Dua Lipa, Charli XCX, etc all released their own albums. Facts > your personal "feelings" about what is an event or not. Hope that helps! Edited August 12 by The Music Industry
VioletsandRoses Posted August 12 Posted August 12 CC is the best. TTPD middle and Brats last. I don't like that type of club popper music 1
Phaunzie Posted August 12 Posted August 12 (edited) Let's say this, Cowboy Carter is the shxt. TTPD is shxt. Brat is good shxt. XOXO CC #Camilia for AOTY Edited August 12 by Phaunzie
TipToe Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Brat winning for the novelty factor and that might open a precedent for Beyoncé, since the committee would have to sustain that they are open to risqué and slutty lyrics being worthy of the big awards.
taylor__fan Posted August 12 Posted August 12 I prefer TTPD but I will vote CC becasue Beyonce winning AOTY is long overdue and she deserves it
Ewan Chaos Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Obviously Brat. Then CC which would be the incorrect album for Beyonce to win AOTY but the album is still good and it'd be nice for her to finally get it after being incorrectly snubbed 3 times in a row. TTPD... Solely on album quality, Billie would deserve more than Beyonce though (not Charli) and feels like the one to beat imo.
Rihinvention Posted August 12 Posted August 12 I honestly think a male artist or a band could win it, and everyone on stan twitter is going to lose their minds because they haven't even considered that's a possibility. Every conversation is "Will it be Brat, or TTPD, or HMHAS, or Cowboy Carter, or The Rise & Fall of a Midwest Princess, or Radical Optimism, or Short n Sweet, or Eternal Sunshine?" I feel like y'all are gonna be gagged if a guy wins it. It's been a great year for pop girls, but it's important to remember that the academy listens to a lot more artists (across a lot more genres) than Twitter gays do.
