Digitalism Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Katy was babysitting music for kids back then. I know because I used to work on an elementary school back then. Even if they don't like it today everybody knows Roar and Darkhorse because of the music videos. That's the reason the youtube numbers are huge for both of them

shyboi Posted August 11 Posted August 11 i think you guys are referring to gen alpha, the newest generation (2010s) We Gen Z grew up with both Katy and Kesha and ofc we know about them and therefore prefer one or the other 1
Digitalism Posted August 11 Posted August 11 3 minutes ago, Windy Day said: roar and dark horse would be gen alpha kids, not gen z who's much older They were between 7 and 10 in 2014/15. So they are between 17 and 20 now. They are gen z
AshleyLovescats887 Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Tbf people in one generation have completely different opinions from each other so I can't say this about every single Gen Z person, but it's probably on Kesha's side due to the dr. flop collaboration for '143'

It's one thing to believe Katy is more remembered, but it's gross to pretend Gen Z doesn't know who Kesha is. Gross behavior is totally on-brand for Katy stans though, so makes sense. So did Katy, many times Dark Horse, HIH, Teenage Dream, Wide Awake, etc. 2 1
TomTom Posted August 11 Posted August 11 32 minutes ago, DoubleRainbow! said: So did Katy, many times Dark Horse, HIH, Teenage Dream, Wide Awake, etc. 1) Those are singles and not album tracks. 2) Ah, so Katy is more remembered because of her singles, but Kesha is completely unknown to Gen Z despite her album tracks going viral...stop embarrassing yourself 3 1
$ebert Posted August 11 Posted August 11 The meltdowns in this thread, a certain fanbase just can't stop embarrassing themselves I'd say Kesha. Joyride appealed to Gen Z, she's had viral trends like Backstabber and Cannibal. We could see people enjoying her Lollapalooza set and there were a lot of young people there. Katy is good for a throwback, they probably know their name due to her catalogue but that's it. I don't think they care anymore. She's always appealed to soccer moms. 5 1

keshason Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Kesha's always been the underdog, and considering Cannibal and Backstabber have gone semi-viral, people will latch on to Kesha more over Katy. Kesha's music electrifies, Katy's Pacifies. 2 2
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Katy, whose recurrent streams completely blow Kesha's out of the water. Kesha's recurrent streams are pretty bad outside of TiK ToK, Timber, Die Young & Right Round. 3
Rihinvention Posted August 13 Posted August 13 I feel like they'd be more likely to buy tickets to a Katy Perry concert, but they'd be less embarrassed to sing along to Kesha if she had a set at a major music festival…if that makes sense. 1

FYI I prefer Kesha to Katy as far as personally but this is just my objective take on the question in the OP
UnusualBoy Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Katy, her image may be the pits and she's heavily hated now but she still pulls 10 million daily even with that so
gettsleazy Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Kesha and it's not even close Just look at Joyride TikTok exposure vs. Katy's recent releases. They started an entire "Kesha girl" aesthetic trend around her image too. 1
