Fridays are amazing. They're kind of a reward after a hard-working week. Tuesdays don't make any sense, no one has time to check for music releases in the middle of the week?

People listen to less music on the weekends... He actually laid it out well in an older thread.

I get it honestly - I listen to the most music while I'm working on weekdays. They should make it Monday to start the week off with new music.

This would be a hot mess with Billboard's tracking week, though lol

If everything weren't digital nowadays that'd make sense. But no one is gonna lose sleep by scrolling an extra minute on streaming services to check new releases.

The same execs that trap young women artists into unfair contracts? No thanks.

I get it honestly - drop a hot new album on Tuesday, let people stream until the weekend, then momentum might go up again over the weekend as people have more time and events to play it over the weekend.

As it stands, anybody can release an album on whatever day they want.

The lack of promotion is the problem, not a Friday release date. No one wants to work anymore.

i'm pretty sure if they moved it back to Tuesday they'd have the same problem

Release day in the UK used to be a Monday and I used to think that made the most sense. :michael:

Sure, lose the 1st day of streamings then :ahh:

Doesn't it… make more sense to release music during the week's end when people are from off from work… when they have more time to listen to new releases? :deadbanana2:

Music execs want people to connect new music with crap Wednesdays instead of fun Fridays

No wonder they can't launch legit superstars smh

You guys are weird lol

You say superstars don't exist anymore because execs want to associate new music to Wednesdays.

Music has been released on Fridays for at least 10 years now and we supposedly don't have superstars anymore.

All the artists you guys consider superstars used to release midweek. So what's the truth?

I was roasting the music exec mindset, like this outdated thinking is how you end up with a failed music industry. For real, most people consider the Billboard charts and Grammys irrelevant. Nothing against Tay Tay, who's a total superstar. These execs need fresher ideas to engage today's listeners.

I could totally see them switching to Tuesdays and still nobody gaf about the music they want to push. This is just nostalgia-driven thinking tbh.
