Jude Posted August 6 Posted August 6 When this bop dropped, it was a total cultural reset, but many years have passed, is it still one of the best female collaboration of all time? 4 3 1 2
Wonderland Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Tbh I think the sound and aesthetic of the video continues to live on and have impact today - so I'm going to say YES 4
Breakdown Posted August 6 Posted August 6 no, it's one of the worst, pure, noisy garbage and the chromatica aesthetic is one of the worst and ugliest ever too 6 4 3 1 25
ChooseyLover Posted August 6 Posted August 6 I like it, don't get me wrong, but I don't think it ever was one. 7 1
Kayseri Mantisi Posted August 6 Posted August 6 what do you mean by "still"? because it literally never was. at this point it's remembered as a pandemic nostalgia, it aged like milk. trying to watch & bop to that in 2024 is pure cringe, it's not a timeless hit. 15 1 4 8
Gladiator Posted August 6 Posted August 6 I love Rain On Me, but I have never really thought it was considered one of the best female collaborations of all time. 2 1

blondeskinnyrich Posted August 6 Posted August 6 all the haters saying no, but not bringing anything else to the table... if you disagree at least say which other female collab is the best in your opinion?????

It's one of the worst collabs of all time and Bloodpop should never touch a Gaga record again. Telephone is better if u want an example but this was back when Gaga actually sounded pleasant instead of the ugly tone she now uses in her singing 3 2 9
cuteboyzay Posted August 6 Posted August 6 It's a great song, and I love it when they play it at the club. But in comparison to many other female collaborations it's just Ok.
Dear Reader Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Well, to me, yes. But I can see how it doesn't stand the test of time for other people just because it got associated with the pandemic too much. Even their promo at the time was centered around being "at home", etc. I still bop to it from time to time and it has two of my favorite artists collaborating. I love the video, too. 1
Sad Beautiful Tragic Posted August 6 Posted August 6 (edited) No, but I get why it resonated so strongly with the poppers community. However, it didn't quite achieve the broader cultural impact it was aiming for. Edited August 6 by Wonbin

Go back and listen to Solar Power then you tasteless hag Edited August 6 by Wonderland 10 2
Escape Posted August 6 Posted August 6 (edited) It's really good but not one of the best of all time. Y'all throw "best of all time" so loosely in here. Edited August 6 by Kanes 4

It's even more embarrassing when the person in your pfp came out with one of the best collaborations of the year with Charli XCX, and you're out here agreeing about Rain On Me being the "best collaboration of all time", then randomly coming for Solar Power, and then dropping a trash take like "Rain On Me's sound and aesthetic continues to live on and impact other artists" which is currently one of the most delusional takes on this site. Who is getting influenced by Rain On Me's Bloodpop sound right now and who is making songs and music videos like it? I didn't directly reply to you on this thread so you don't need to fume at my reply only & then randomly add Lorde into this, I would rather listen to Solar Power which is completely unrelated to this topic & a way more fresh, unique release which will age incomparably well, yes. 2 2
ariananext Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Ariana and Gaga working together is iconic, two great talents, the result, however, wasn't as good as I expected. 1

mike_int Posted August 6 Posted August 6 "cultural reset" ? "many years have passed" ? "best female collaboration of all time" ? Its August 6th, not April 1st 6 2
