latingrl2005 Posted August 1 Posted August 1 It doesn't matter. Taylor was smart to release new music while touring in Europe. It gave the tour new life and she selling like hotcakes. Midnights was already dying out and it gives her break from radio till TS12.
Guilherme Make Love Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) I don´t think so in total numbers, no one can beat Taylor in this category But in public conversation and overall cultural impact? It definitely feels like it, both are just constantly being discussed pretty much everywhere now while TTPD weirdly feels very contained in Taylor big fanbase. The Eras tour is the only current project from Taylor that people overall seems very into it. Edited August 1 by Guilherme Make Love 1
Maroonx Posted August 1 Posted August 1 with 12 weeks at #1... hmmm I think not. x But good for Brat/HMHAS
K$Ellie Posted August 1 Posted August 1 aren't both billie singles AND an album track outstreaming anything on the 31 track album right now? 5 1

Can we expect HMHAS to outstream TTPD then? Looking at their track record ( DSAM failing against Reputation, WWAFAS failing against Lover, HTE failing against Folklore)... things are not in favor of Billie so let's hope it ends up different this time. Streaming era artist with 5 years career failing to outstream an artist with 18 years career from digital era is not a good look for the listen before i go chanteuse Edited August 2 by WildHeart 1 4
Gorjesspazze9 Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Didn't Taylor sell like 5 million albums in the last 3 months alone?
Bosque Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Mom said it's my turn to create the "did brat have more cultural impact than TTPD" thread tomorrow

Billie has been pulling stronger average per track streams than Taylor consistently since HMHAS dropped. Having the triple of songs is literally the only reason why Taylor have more streams lol 1
Digitalism Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) Hmhas of course Brat is not there yet They are both culturallly more relevant tho Ttpd just feels as a part of the eras era. It doesn't hold itself on its own Edited August 1 by Digitalism

ATRL Moderator feelslikeadream Posted August 1 ATRL Moderator Posted August 1 No. I don't understand people saying yes to HMHAS. I haven't seen the album discussed anywhere outside of ATRL I think it's a great album, but the idea of it overshadowing Taylor when shes at her popularity peak is... a little suspect. 1
The Music Industry Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) The biggest artist of the year with the biggest album of the year and the biggest tour of the year is being overshadowed? Y'all are so unserious it's actually hilarious Edited August 1 by The Music Industry 1 1
Kiss It Better Posted August 2 Posted August 2 for two albums i haven't listened since release week, i'm hearing more about brat than ttpd and that should say something

This is the first Charli album to chart for more than 2 weeks and Billie has a terrible track record of the albums falling off as soon as the singles do, good luck booking that long run you speak of meanwhile only 1 of the 3 is returning (not everybody got there in the first place) to #1 for a 13th week Edited August 2 by Popboi.

Storm653 Posted August 2 Posted August 2 (edited) Musically, not at all. In terms of sparking social media trends, maybe. But, overall, TTPD is bigger than both. Even globally, it's been very successful in a short period of time. And Taylor just went viral and got compared to MJ for having 40,000 people crowding themselves in a hill to watch her show in Germany. But, it's ATRL, so of course people are going to act like TTPD is irrelevant and has nobody listening to it because it has no summer bops on it. Whatever makes people feel better is the right answer. Edited August 2 by Storm653
Trash Posted August 2 Posted August 2 Most of the time I read about TTPD is people hating on it either here or on twitter, while Brat has positive clout and HMHAS has the critics, so kinda.
