Brooklyn Baby Posted September 9 Author Posted September 9 Even though TTPD isn't my fav album from Taylor and I hate on some of the songs, it has quite a few gems and it's better than Midnights. I wish people took time to digest it a bit more before ranking tbh 7
byzantium Posted September 9 Posted September 9 1989 having 25% of the top 20? I know that's right. ATRL finally got taste. 1 2
makeawish Posted September 9 Posted September 9 ngl i wrote this off when my faves all went out in the first two days but i'm checking in for the top 10 and it's pretty good (enchanted was robbed)

Buffy Posted September 9 Posted September 9 I ain't reading all that. This rate was immediately over as soon as I saw these. Blasphemy. 236. Tied Together with a Smile - 5.2859 235. Superstar - 5.309 1
holyground13 Posted September 9 Posted September 9 I'll post some more thoughts tomorrow but thank you so much to the rate host @Forever Winter it was lots of fun to read and I'm glad that one of my 11s won! Taste prevailed and when it didn't prevail the mess was entertaining I'm so glad a certain just-good track was booted out at #11 so we got a perfect top 10, despite all of evermore being out by then too. 1 1

Next rate we should not use the score 0-2, theres no seriously that bad of a song in her discography, its just a tool for troll and saboteurs. Like i saw people give 0-2 to The Cardigan, The Style or any songs in top 20 and know damn well they are not trying to be objective.

Honestly I think it's the chipmunk vocals on the original and the (comparatively) weak production since it was her first effort. Debut TV will convert them I am convinced case in point, I gained a whole new and holy appreciation for this one after the immaculate Eras live version: Edited September 10 by pinkbowvintage 1

Achilles. Posted September 10 Posted September 10 I was surprised to see "Style" win this one... and then I wasn't. Further proof of a deep generational chasm that divides ATRL into two camps; the thirtysomething country and indie sophisticates with 15 to 20 years of top-shelf music consumption to their names, and an unruly kid crew with Wicked avatars and tributes to Olivia Rodrigo in their signatures. It's not that the latter generation is a lost cause entirely, but they've clearly never heard a "Taylor Swift" — that is, they've never encountered an artist quite as distinctive as country and indie Taylor Swift. "But I know Taylor Swift! 1989 was the first album I bought!" First off, ask for a refund. And no, you don't know Taylor Swift, you know a very stilted and subdued version of the talented musician. 5
Peak Now Posted September 10 Posted September 10 @Forever Winter idk if this is too much to ask for but what were the songs with the highest (and lowest) standard deviation in scores? I wonder what the most divisive song was

They were either loved or hated
Ken Lee Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Unexpected winner as it doesn't even crack my top 50, but at least it wasn't Encheesyted When every song on Torchipo rises 30 spots on the next rate In a way, I'm a bit glad I wasn't able to participate. Now I know just which duds to target next time looking at you New Communists and essentially all of the original 19Katy9 @Forever Winter thank you for the hours of time that I know this took to put together. You are truly The Rate Industry® 1 1

What about those of us who adore both? Like to be frank I'm in my 30's, I bought the "you're gay" version of debut on CD, I love BOTH styles and consider Folklermore her technical best set of albums in terms of musicianship, but her pop masterpiece Style is no less a masterpiece. 1

Well when the options are A) overrated Speak Now song that's won a rate, B) overrated Red song that's won a rate, and C) overrated 1989 song that (to the best of my knowledge hasn't won a rate but you'd be better informed in that regard), even though I prefer 1989 the least of those respective albums (and on artistic merit, Style the least of the options), it's the rightful victor here 1 hour ago, Achilles. said: The karma to Style winning came quite swiftly. nnnn wait
