pavi

11 - "This is just magical."

greento

10 - "Best vault song ever. Deserved that #1 even if it was just for a week."

1989

10 - "Absolutely lives up to the hype."

Lorenzo22

9.2 - '"Nothing has ever gagged me like 'you searched on every model's bed for something greater.'"

Where are you now?

9 - "Helped inspire my 2 - 300 takeout coffees later winter of 2024."

wastedpotential

8.6 - "Honestly, I never thought we'd really book a hit from the vault. After Message In A Bottle tanked and I Can See You got cannibalized, I'd moved on from my fantasies of getting a hit out of the new material, and was just feeling blessed as I basked in the radiance of the success of Cruel Summer. Then, out of nowhere, Gary the Hot 100 guy tweets that "****!" was going to be pushed as a single from Swift 19:89 (New Testament), and I was so excited, because surely a song with that title was attention-grabbing enough to be a HIT™. Then, I heard "****!", and decided that Lord and Her team were ******* insane. Luckily for all of us, about 24 hours after the release, they realized I was right and made this the single instead. I knew from the first cry of the seagull that this had potential, and I was thoroughly vindicated! That aside, the song is pleasant, but I wouldn't call it anything near Her best. Her calling out Harry as a who're sliding through model's beds and looking for girls with Her eyes was the drag of the century, but some of this is over-written, the melody is definitely playing junior varsity on this book, and the production sounds like an amalgamation of everything else on this book. I'm glad this was a hit, even though in 20 years it'll be making the same "5 Taylor Swift Hits You've Never Heard Of" lists that low quality music journalism outlets are putting out about Madonna today. No one will remember or care about this by the end of the decade (probably all of us included), but oh it was glorious in the moment, and I loved hearing this come on the radio. #MugsForIsItOverNow was a very successful mugging campaign, 13 Megladons should be taking notes right now to apply to their payola campaign for I Can Do It with a Broken Heart."

kyungsoowift

8.5 - "I still question why and how this song went #1."

Achilles.

7 - "Good but derivative."

blown away

6.1 - "One of the only vault tracks that I actually like. It genuinely sounds like a 1989 reject but with a Midnights production."

I had already come to terms with people's IQs being too low for loml, but when did we become a society where Last Kiss wasnt universally agreed to be a magnum opus... ATW <<<

This top 50 is really good (especially considering some of the tastelessness at the start of the rate)

These are all very good songs but I'd take out these before the top 40:

Mine

Don't Blame Me

Delicate

Getaway Car

Call It What You Want

right where you left

Anti-Hero

You're On Your Own Kid

And replace them with these:

Tim McGraw

The Story Of Us

All You Had To Do Was Stay

Soon You'll Get Better (deserved much, much better)

No Body, No Crime (deserved much, much better)

Happiness

Marjorie

Karma

The way that like 14 or 15 songs from my top 20 are still here and yet this whole rate is a massive CHOP.

I think the following need to leave as soon as possible…

Spoiler

Mine

Dear John

Treacherous

Holy Ground

Wildest Dreams

…Ready For It?

Don't Blame Me

Cornelia Street

Seven

Cowboy Like Me

Maroon

Would've Could've Should've

Safe & Sound

I wouldn't put any of those tracks in my personal top 50 Taylor songs…

I'd love to see Guilty As Sin make the top 20 but given how Poets has been received - I'd put money on it being out before then.

I think 4 of my 11's and one my zero (sabotage score) is left…

Anyways. Rooting for Clean to make top ten.

Would love to see Anti Hero and Call It What You Want make top 25.

Real questions are being asked here. How fast before Guilty As Sin is leaving us tonight? :suburban:

Spoiler

Honestly, out of the absolute gems of TTPD, I'm kinda mad GAS is the highest charting one. loml, I Hate It Here, Fresh Out The Slammer or The Prophecy deserved.

You're so right. I get why it was the one to make it if only one could, but it certainly wouldn't have been my pick :suburban:

I hope GAS at least makes it into the 30s, but we'll see :suburban:

I think I have one 11 left.

The fact that it made it this far at all is an improvement on last year, my impact :fan:

edit: lol wait I have two but still

I think it's going to be somewhere between 30 and 25… but I'm going get all spiritual and manifest top 15.

GAS is in my top 3 so I'm happy everyone else seems to enjoy it too… but I agree that Loml, I Hate It Here and The Prophecy are also excellent.

I'm also a Forknight stan - I make no apologies
