Achilles. 11 - "I've always considered this song a bit of a sequel to Ready For It. That song was loud and blaring, trying to scare off a new man by warning him about the chaos of her life. This song is much more tranquil and meditative because SHE has made peace with the chaos of her life, but there's still an undercurrent of apprehension because she fears that her partner still has not." wastedpotential 10 - "Joe Alwyn, welcome to your tape. Of all the songs that got emotionally messy and harder to return to after Joever, this was the messiest and the hardest to come back to. I really do believe that if you were to cut away all of his issues and all of Her baggage and get to the root of the issue, he needed the peace that She was just not equipped for. I'm actually not going to be too mean to Hobo here, I don't think it's his fault that he is the way that he is, but I think this hymn makes it really very clear that he was not interested in a relationship with the most famous person alive (but was, at least at the time, willing to commit to everything else), and when push really came to shove, She picked being a famous person, and Her career and Her fans and Her craft and Her legacy over him, and that was the final straw, though it took them both a few years to figure that out. When I say that, I don't mean to imply that She literally made a chocie between him and Her future, more that he was seemingly happy to accommodate Her career and fans and craft and legacy, but not at the expense of Her fame, and she wasn't willing to give them all up to accommodate his need there. It's an unfortunate situation (and of course, being the slight misandrist TayLover that I am, I'm gonna place the blame square in his court), but there was a lot of emotional turmoil in their relationship that boiled over into a lot of turmoil in their breakup. Reflectively, this is one of the saddest things She's ever written, in the sense that She's spilling Her guts to the person She thinks will be Her forever, saying "I will be with you always, and I will try to provide all that I can for you in the way I know you can provide for me, but there's just this one thing I can't do, is that a dealbreaker", and then he lied and said it wasnt. **** MEN!" SLUTTVFTV 8.4 - "Took a while to appreciate this one, but there are so many heartbreaking lines in it, the long pond studio performance is also great." 1989 8 - "It's a bit depressing to listen to this knowing what we know now, but a beautiful song nonetheless." Where are you now? 7.7 - "This song. You don't get it right away. One of those songs that takes years to marinate and land. I am still fathoming and suspect in 10 years will be much bigger for me." blown away 2.5 - "That intro was unnecessary and the production is a rather annoying." Great Username Posted September 5 Posted September 5 She really did something different with this sing... We have to respect Her indie acclaim error
Brooklyn Baby Posted September 5 Author Posted September 5 Four songs left for today! #94 is a Vault track. Quote "Criminal this didn't make the original tracklist." "Overrated." "Horrible, annoying song." "Don't get the praise for this song. I don't actually think it's a 0, but I find it super overrated with very average lyrics." "The bridge carries a bit, I fear, thank you queen."
Great Username Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Mr Perfectly Fine you are bones... Please tell me that didn't actually make the top 100

This is literally just barely good enough to be associated with the rest of this Book, but here we all were proclaiming it to be her next #1 single if it got pushed. I vividly remember people swearing this was a YBWM-sister. For that YBWM sweetie, I am SO sorry. You deserve better. Joe Jonas is a bag of dog **** and always has been, and the lyric sashay (while a word I dislike immensely and one that makes me feel mildly homophobic nnn) is what he deserves. I hope Lord and Sophie got super ******* wine drunk to this when they were staying together. I'm not sure if this scores higher or lower than Forever and Always (I sincerely hope it's lower, but y'all ******* are tasteless sometimes and I might not get lucky), but this ties into the heads-on-spikes comment I made there. Stay tuned for that one, maybe?" Peroxide 8 - "Criminal this didn't make the original tracklist."
