PoisonedIvy Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Britney Spears' influence as a vocalist is notable because it created a recognizable and replicable vocal style that defined an entire generation of pop music. Her ability to blend innocence with a hint of rebelliousness in her voice made her songs appealing to a broad audience, setting a template that many aspiring pop stars sought to emulate. While Lady Gaga's contributions to pop music are undeniably significant and innovative, Spears' direct influence on the vocal stylings of subsequent pop artists marks her as a more pivotal figure in this regard. The lasting legacy of the era of "Britney clones" serves as a testament to Spears' unique vocal impact on the music industry. 10 6 5 21

Prodigal Self Posted July 26 Posted July 26 First of all, yes. She uses autotune the way Bob Dylan uses his harmonica. Having your usual fun I see 3 1

Breakdown Posted July 26 Posted July 26 of course, which doesn't say much, because why would the perfect illusion and stupid love singer be influential in any way (she isn't) 2 9

Sannie Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Yea, I wouldn't necessarily deny. Britney has always had a unique vocal style. 1
JoeAg Posted July 26 Posted July 26 I love Britney but no she is not I can think of a few specific times people have replicated her vocal stylings (Florida Kilos by Lana Del Rey, Marina's falsetto in some songs, Trisha Paytas' whole discography) but it's more her general artistry that I think has inspired many artists Gaga is a vocal goddess, and while her timbre has changed over the years, it's easy to spot that her vocals are a KEY element of her artistry that have inspired millions. Shallow alone spawned a whole new breed of singing competition tryhard-ness lol 2
Slap Posted July 26 Posted July 26 I would have agreed with you if it weren't for this undeniable example of Gaga's influence: Spoiler But seriously I agree. Gaga is the stronger vocalist but Britney has influenced vocals in pop more than Gaga and has a seriously underrated voice. 1
Shimenawa Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Britney is a vocalist now? Is she part of the trinity or what
