I prefer Emotion but I think Charli delivered a more innovative, forward thinking project - so she gets the artistry vote for me.

 

Still - Emotion remains a masterclass in excellent pop music.

brat is amazing, one of the best albums of the year/decade and it objectively gets the artistry point by far. but it's not the best charli. if I had to choose between charli self titled and emotion the answer would be charli. but in this case, the superior album overall is emotion

EMOTION. It has range, depth, songwriting and just a phenomenal pop album. A lot of artists will never be ever be able to craft a masterpiece. 

 

brat is…. not good. just a bunch of pots and pans music mixed in with weird and stupid vocals.

I'm inclined to say Brat overall, the lows on it are higher than the lows on Emotion

 

at the same time, idk if anything on Brat is necessarily as perfect as Run Away with Me proper. 360, Sympathy Is a Knige, Apple, 365, and Hello Goodbye all respectively feel CLOSE, but idk. recency bias might be clouding my judgment a bit but overall Brat is a more consistently amazing ride. I don't really like I Really Like You and Gimmie Love personally, they both feel like filler and the first was a HORRIBLE choice for a lead single  

 

I think I'll go with Brat for both options, at least at this moment in time
