Dante Silva Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I think she's gauged social media and now realises this track has way more heat than simply a buzz single and many consider it to be the true follow up to AOMD. 4

I wonder if things would have been different if this would have been released in September 1

Dante Silva Posted January 3 Posted January 3 "IT Girl" could have the impact Jade needs to give the album launch a significant push forward. I think the sudden quietness can be attributed to Jade and RCA realizing that their efforts to build momentum with MC as a buzz single - leading into "Fantasy" as the next major step in the album rollout to gain more traction - simply wasn't working. They likely had a shock realization that "Fantasy" wasn't resonating with the public as they had expected. They ultimately acknowledged that "It Girl" - which RCA initially considered just another throwaway buzz single - is generating significantly more anticipation and gaining much more online traction and engagement than they had initially anticipated. As a result, they decided to elevate it to full single status. However, creating a campaign around a full single release requires significantly more effort than a buzz single - in terms of graphics, visuals, and promotion. This quiet period has likely been about them working behind the scenes to prepare for the now upgraded release of "It Girl," hoping it will achieve what "Fantasy" failed to deliver. This experience will also serve as a learning opportunity for Jade and RCA to better understand which style and tempo resonate most with both her core audience and the wider public. 2
abra Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Or they wouldn't release a song right before the Christmas freeze and New Year… Fantasy was released on October 4th as an official single. Even if it didn't do well, they wouldn't move on just a month afterwards and Christmas followed right after. I honestly don't even think there was a quiet period? Pre-save for IT girl has been up since December 13th… 1
MatiRod Posted January 3 Posted January 3 (edited) We need an album announcement tbh. Put it out while "Angel of My Dreams" is still relatively fresh. She could have a career as an acclaimed, niche (complimentary), left-field diva in the same vein as Robyn and pre-Brat Charli. Edited January 3 by MatiRod

glitch Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I wish she hadn't changed the china doll lyric to baby doll, but the new production sounds great
