NausAllien Posted July 18 Posted July 18 I think they're trying to put pressure on him to drop out. They can't force him out, so they're leaking stories to the media. Biden is a stubborn old man, so I don't think there's anything they can do to make him drop out, unless Jill and Hunter are on board and they convince him somehow. 1

No one else except Kamala Harris gets access to the $200 million+ in campaign funds that they've raised so far. 1
Reginald Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Oh, Joe Whatever the Democrats are doing, they need to decide NOW. It's almost August for fux sake 1
JC. Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Sadly, if Hillary couldn't beat Trump, I don't think Kamala could. They would have to continue to run on how another Trump presidency would be harmful for us to be a progressive nation and hope for the best. 1
Bethenny Frankel Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Kamala can at least put up a fight, hopefully she can take it to Trump 5 1

She at least has the ability to campaign and rally voters to her side. She can stand for 90 minutes and actually debate. She also has a good chance at rallying younger voters back to the Democratic side. It will not be easy but at least with Kamala we have a chance. I'll take a chance 2

One thing about Kamala is that she has room to grow, but also room to plummet. Biden and Trump were so overexposed and voters hated them both so much that no one was shifting their opinion on them. While people know Kamala, the VP is such a basic role with no sense of identity that she's still able to chart her own course and appeal to the American people if she's in the spotlight. Now, of course, she can fumble. But I think voters' expectations are so low that hearing a candidate speak in full sentences will be a breath of fresh air. Does she have a chance? Yes. Does Biden? No. So, it makes sense to go with her unless bringing in someone completely new is on the table (in which case, I would push for Andy Beshear of Kentucky). 8
Thin White Duke Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Trump is still winning unfortunately, especially after his van Gogh moment 6
Bhabylon Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Biden should step down from his presidency, make Kamala the first woman president, and give her the advantage of being the incumbent nominee but he won't 1

ClashAndBurn Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Biden is still defiant and delusional, so I don't think he's going willingly. He seems more than willing to fracture the party. His loyal messengers like Symone Sanders are still making it very clear that he's "listening to the (actual) voters who want him to stay in" and is enjoying using the elite donors and party electeds calling for him to drop out as a foil. By that, of course, they mean the <200 soccer moms attending his half-empty high school gym rallies. 2 1
