Your opinion on Work B**ch?

It's fantastic and I've always been addicted to it. Everything about it is perfection: the beat, the melody, the instrumental, the lyrics, Britney's attitude, the spoken-voice, the video. One of the catchiest songs of all time in my opinion, absolutely iconic and very motivating when you need to work out. A solid 12/10 :clap3:

I try and forget it exists considering Britney isn't even singing it, but unfortunately it's become a Britney classic so… yeah :/

knowing its 90% Myah Marie vocals feels icky. anything from that era is hard to listen to tbqh. Scream & Shout will always be a banger tho, Myah ate that one up

Yall acting like you know that she isn't singing on it :rip:

this narrative is so tired when this fanbase has been constantly baited by alleged leaks of not-britney singing

ot: It's underrated since it did so much with so little (and is a deffo work-out classic)

but it was a product of its time

It's cute for a workout or at a seedy homosexual club or Chili's, but we need a (Britney's Version) without Myah :biblio:

Sis, the multitracks leaked years ago and Myah's name is all over those files. It's not a narrative, it's an unfortunate truth.

Knowing the **** that was going on back then

and how even fans believed the edited "real vocals" of the Alien leak

I don't believe a simple Name of some vocals tracks is enough proof to prove anything

not saying Myah didn't sing, but yall push it too far claiming that Britney didnt sing at all

no wonder FreeBritney took off so late

I've heard the vocal stems for the entirety of Britney Jean and can confidently say Britneys voice is present maybe 30% of that album, it's not a far fetched concept.

As a loyal stan for life I'd say I'd be able to recognize Britney's voice

In her book, Britney called this "the one descent song she did that era"

With or without Britney, I just don't like the song tbh

but it's painfully clear which parts she's not on and the horrid background girl imitating her is beyond grating so I don't touch that song since 2013

Yeah, I used to be a BJ defender but after getting a hold of the stems for this album and listening to the isolated vocals, it's glaringly obvious that Britney isn't singing lead on like half of the album.

And to make myself clear, I don't blame Britney for any of this. She said in her book that BJ was her worst album, so it's clear that something happened behind the scenes that made her completely abandon this project. Probably the fact that it was forced on her.

Eligible for 3x Platinum in the US according to Luminate numbers: 3,262,777 units. :clap3: To me,  it's already a signature song of hers, I hear it at almost every pride parade I go to :clap3:

I always thought the Vegas performances were mostly her vocals?

As I said

this fanbase has been clickbaited into believing Britney is singing on some non-Britney songs - daily

No offense (and Im not even defending the album here) but even if you are confident that you know her voice, it doesn't matter much

You're not making sense sweetie

we were "tricked into believing Britney is singing on songs she's not singing in" but also "it doesn't matter if we think we know her voice?"

I knew something was fishy the moment I heard that album. Same with the pre chorus on circus. The only time I was wrong was scream and shout. I really thought the tulissa parts were her

Agree I wouldn't pin any of it on Britney herself. She was definitely writing songs during that era and said she was making one of the most personal albums of her career but what she worked on felt like it was an ep at most. then later on the label and conservators rushed an album with Myah's vocals so they had something to sell and promote for the vegas shows. The songs I think Britney probably is fond of and had somewhat of a hand in creating are Brightest Morning Star, Alien, Perfume + Don't Cry. And obviously Work ***** she approved of, it's just barely her singing it.

It's alright, it's not on her top 20 best singles but it's cute for a workout or at a club. But yeah it's been tainted by the vocals controversy so we might as well leave Britney Jean in 2013 (unless will.i.am digs up another demo).

Not the song for me.

Just wanted to add she most likely had no time to go into the recording studio given they were working her even on her damn birthday and laughing about it as seen on I am bj. Still boils my blood 😡

What?
You think* you know her voice, but then a fake Britney song comes and yall believe it's her

What is hard to get?

The human ear isn't perfect, no one can be sure

And what Britney song are you alluding to being fake that "we all believe is her" exactly? I do know (not think I know) that woman's voice like the back of my hand! All her ranges and all her rasps are v familiar to these ears and have been since 98 tyvm.

I definitely can hear Britney's voice in those stems, sadly she's not the lead in most of those and can be heard just in the background

It's a bop and the best song she did with Will.I.Am, after that, everything went downhill for that duo :suburban:

Fun song and fun video but it feels kinda dark now. She was literally forced to make this song (and album) and to perform it.

Tulisa ate Scream & Shout too!

OT: I did a 180 on Work ***** after everything was revealed. It's a horrible song and I can't imagine the pain Britney had to go through while promoting it. Plus it barely sounds like her and literally isn't for 95% of the vocals.

Knowing what we know now about the conservatorship, the lyrics being "you better work" etc and the imagery of whips and dancers on chains is just so... :biblio:

I would agree, but she said in her book that it's the one song she likes from that era of her career so at least we know she doesn't have any negative feelings towards it.

It's so weird how Britney said Work ***** is the one good song that came out of the BJ sessions yet she's not even singing it :deadbanana2:This album is such a mystery. Hold On Tight is actually one of the first songs Britney wrote for the album, which Anthony Preston confirmed on TOD podcast. I honestly think going into this album Britney was ready to create something personal, but after a certain point it went from that to generic EDM club bangers and Britney lost all interest.
