I enjoy many of her songs. She used to be harmlessly fun. But everything started to fall apart this particular era where everything goes wrong. There were at least some redeeming qualities about Witness and Smile. MTE! Many of us are catching up with the mess because we care or used to care about her and also because not a single pop star has messed up this badly since forever, it's hard to look away honestly. If one thing kats are right about, she's not to blame for the actions of that man. If she parts ways with him I wouldn't mind rooting for her again. Everybody makes mistakes. Hopefully she learns that we don't want him and we want albums more often than every 4 years. New album without Puke next year. Manifesting. 1
Strawberry Bubble Posted July 14 Posted July 14 This would've been a hit back in 2015, when feminism was at its cultural peak in pop music lol

Hey, all of those are valid and this comeback bombing is interesting to follow, but I'm not gonna gag over imaginary numbers. 1

Sannie Posted July 14 Posted July 14 Considering YouTube was the last vestige of her career and the only thing her fans had left to brag about (granted they had to brag about 10-year-old videos), this is insane. She has fallen from every single peak she's ever had; radio doesn't support her, streaming doesn't support her, and now YouTube doesn't support her. We have never seen a fall like this in pop history.
Digitalism Posted July 14 Posted July 14 The ratio is actually getting better so it just means all the f gs reviewed bombed It will be interesting to see the numbers in a month or something 1
leyaris11 Posted July 14 Posted July 14 She's deserved it. The song is reductive. Bland melody, weak chorus, cheesy lyrics... I mean it's 2024 and she's still singing line like "It's a woman's world and you're lucky to be livin' in it"

Her working with Luke was not a mistake; it was a deliberate action on her part because of her desperation. One of the first things her label came out and said when this song and album were announced was that Katy purposely chose the team she did. They thought it was a good thing to bring up her working with the Teenage Dream team again because they thought it was something that would spark interest. 8 minutes ago, Digitalism said: The ratio is actually getting better so it just means all the f gs reviewed bombed It will be interesting to see the numbers in a month or something Y'all living in a fantasy world where you think the only people disliking this are gay people is so funny. If this were the case, nearly every pop girl's video would have a similar ratio due to their haters. It's time to accept the world just doesn't like or want this.

Girl it was 70-30 on the first few hours. It's 50-50 now. Nobody said the GP liked this. Still this is still the definition of review bombing. 1

Ofc, it was a deliberate action and a mistake at that, definitely not an accident. It's immoral and embarrassing but also easy to understand why she did it. She's mostly known for her work with him sadly, even though she released some great work without him. She must be very aware of that and she tried to recreate past success with the same ingredients hoping it would turn out fine. She's out of touch with reality but I'm still on the fence about this making her an evil person or not. I'd rather think she can redeem herself and backtrack rather than thinking she's doomed to work with Puke for eternity.
Maroonx Posted July 14 Posted July 14 In the top 5 dislikes to the year?? at least she's top 5 somewhere right... a hit x
Canonical Ensembl Posted July 14 Posted July 14 Yeah. It's a very bad one, but I hope the feedback doesn't discourage her from making music.
Phaunzie Posted July 14 Posted July 14 (edited) All those dislikes will tell the algorithm that the music video brings a lot of engagement. So I guess thanks for the boost. The fact I just got it recommended to me and I'm not even signed on. Edited July 14 by Phaunzie
Julia Fox Posted July 14 Posted July 14 I hope she still feels sexy confident about this era because if not her message on this song it's gonna prove everything that her 20 left fans had said to defend this mess was just nonsense… I can't feel sad because she had a team and she has a brain herself and they would have known better about the song lyrics and the producer choice but they are just incompetent and out of touch, like they don't even deserve to get paid tbh
Enrique523 Posted July 14 Posted July 14 I didn't watch the like/dislike ratio the only time i watched the video but honestly i'm not surprised, the video is just as much of a disaster as the song. Like, WHO was this video made for?
