naval23 Posted July 11 Posted July 11 (edited) I'm thinking: 3 days Rome 5 days Tuscany + Florence 2 days Venice 2-3 days Lake Como/Milan I have around 12 days there and would love suggestions! Edited July 12 by naval23 2
zach Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Bookmarking as I'm planning on going next year too! (and no specific plans yet)
Walk_Away21 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 We need Italian queen @ariananext to chime in. it depends what's your trip focus. Relaxing in beautiful locations, sightseeing and walking all over, etc. 5 days in Tuscany might be a lot IMO? But I didn't go there on my trip last year so others could probably help there. IMO sneaking in Florence might be a good idea. 1

Purple Land Posted July 12 Posted July 12 I'd try Sardinia, I've heard good things about it. Avoid Taormina, it's only worth it if you have a lot of time... Milan was cute but kinda unnecessary if you know other european countries.
ariananext Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Girl there's no Italy without Amalfi coast/Capri, although that's super busy during summer (but so is the rest of the country). If you want to go to the beach Sardinia and Sicily are the best.
Robert Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Milan is kinda boring, I would just see Duomo di Milano and go straight to Lake Como although they have great pizza. Pasta is best in Florence and Venice. Rome is incredible and beautiful but public transport can be messy and there's a lot of pickpocketing so be cautious. Avoid restaurants filled with tourists, I usually search Reddit for the best recommendations or ask locals. The catacombs in Rome were interesting so I would recommend that if you want something different. The whole of Italy is beautiful and iconic so enjoy it. Enjoy good food, hot men, amazing wine/coffee and beautiful scenery. 1
Homebrand Posted July 14 Posted July 14 I actually had a very similar itinerary to you last year when I went! Didn't do Lake Como though so can't comment on that. Milan was great I personally loved it (favourite coffee, food and shopping for sure) but outside the Duomo and any other minor sights of galleries you want to see, there's not much to see so 2 days is would be plenty. 1-2 days in Venice is good, and 3-4 days in Rome is also perfect. In regards to Florence, I did 3 nights in Florence and 2 nights in Sienna, which was a little gem that I surprisingly loved. We had a car and drove around which was awesome to explore the countryside like that, we also did a day trip to San Gimingnano and stopped at the Saturnia Hot Springs on the way to Rome, would highly recommend if you're able to do that. 1
Princess Aurora Posted July 14 Posted July 14 (edited) Interesting itinerary but you should visit Taormina, Sardinia, and Capri as well Edited July 14 by Princess Aurora

Also i think you can't say you have visited italy if you don't go or to Naples or to Palermo (in Sicily). These cities are really the essence ot italianity same as Florence or Rome. Especially Naples (instead of Palermo other sicilian cities can be similar). Milan is a beautiful city but it's really not that italian if not for the fashion world. It's very european as city.
