I met up with my sister today at lunch and when she pulled up in the car park I could hear "CRUSH" blasting from her car.

Years and years of being a pain in my ass and she finally comes through!

You're most definitely wrong... I hope lol no way in hell that she's not gonna release those songs at some point.

Well high on your supply is yet to be released on streaming platforms…

The album is criminally short and would benefit from a couple extra bops. I need OK to be a bop, not like the other bonus tracks.

Has any insider even heard it who can spill some info on what it sounds like?

I second this, any insider can tell us what it sounds like please?

This is like a dagger to the soul. It's such a great song and deserves to be more known.

I'm going to stay optimistic that some form of deluxe edition will eventually come to streaming platforms. It would be silly to leave them as web store exclusives, especially when they were region locked.

Come through for us Katheryn! :gaycat2:

Before I start I wanna note that I really like Katy and over the last few years I found myself listening to her catalog more and more so I was really excited for this album because I actually liked Smile a lot.

After few weeks and few listens let me write my review:

First 3 songs are like some of the worst opening songs of the album like ever. WW is simply a bad generic sterile song with horrible lyrics and no point. I still can't believe they honestly thought this song was worth of being mastered in the first place, let alone lead single. Gimme Gimme is even worse. The fact that she sounds dead behind those vocals, song feels 10 minutes long. There is nothing happening here. Everything is so damn repetitive. Another failed attempt at capturing Dark Horse sound, except DR happened organically and she was ahead of the time, this is just pathetic attempt. And then we have career worst song. I honestly don't even wanna write anything about it. It's disgusting and annoying. None of these 3 songs have any redeeming quality. They are short and yet so boring and long. There's no dynamic. Everything is a straight line here.

And now we're talking something... I absolutely hated IHHM in all snippets and VMA performance, but it kept growing on me and now I like it a lot. It's the only song on this album that actually feels like a proper song. But it's dead on stage, it totally killed the mood of VMA performance. I had no idea who Doechii was before this but she's actually a great addition, and song feels like a collaboration and not rent a rapper type of song. She elevated song and made it effortlessly cool. Although still far from Katy's best songs, but standards on this album are low.

Crush had potential, but I don't pay attention to songs that follow short tiktok trends. Songs ending after 2nd verse/chorus are songs that I never go back to and there is simply no point in listening those songs that neve reach its potential or go somewhere. Once you heard first 30 seconds of this song you heard everything.

Lifetimes is a grower. I liked the snippet. I like production and I like vocals - everything actually sounds exciting. For the first time on this album and unfortunately last time. First song where she actually sounds like she's passionate about music and singing. Although it's another song that goes nowhere at least it doesn't feel short and it feels like a proper song. And I can confirm it sounds great on radio, I hear it all the time here. She nailed it at VMAs and proved that it can work perfectly as encore on tour.

All the love - I was excited for it after everyone called it highlight of the album, but it does nothing for me. Sounds like Prism/Smile reject. I don't hate it, it's just filler. Another song where you don't have to listen it in full because nothing new happens after you hear first minute of it.

Nirvana - I liked the snippet and all of its 10 years past its time sound but song is simply boring. Another lifeless production and vocal delivery. I simply don't understand recording process of this album. Were they even in studio? Most of it sounds like people who made this album don't even listen to music and have zero respect towards fans/people. You can hear bare minimum of this song and them thinking 'this will do'.

Artificial - Oh dear, another horrible attempt at Dark Horse/ET. At least it's a bit better than GG. This one sounds like one of those demos that leak decade after recording sessions and no one pays attention to it. I don't see point of this song.

Truth is painfully generic, boring and forgettable. I keep forgetting this song exists when I listen to the album. It's like she had the line 'i wanna know truth even if it hurts me' and built whole song around it as if that line was something remarkable. I like more mellow production of it after last few generic overproduced songs.

The second Wonder starts and I hear that damn noise I wanna turn it off. I never thought I would hear worse child vocals than those on that Shakira ballad. Song is really nothing special, another song that sounds like a leftover. I can't believe this is the only song on the album with middle 8.

Overall this album is joyless. I am no stranger to generic forgettable pop music. But it is simply impossible to find something exciting here because nothing is. It's like she never listened to the dance music and has no idea what dance music is. She wanted to make dance album but make it short for tiktok. So she betrayed both artistry of it and failed at making trendy music. And less said about generic sterile production the better. There was very little effort put into this album, choruses are copy paste, there are no add libs, back vocals, harmonies, there is literally nothing to go back to. Once you hear any of the songs there is need to go back. Songs would just randomly end after their second verses/choruses so what's the point of them?

P.S. Don't hate me for this review. I still root for her and this era despite hating music.

2nd week in the top 100

She keeps defying all the haters and proves everyone wrong

Just like they predicted she wasn't going to debut in the top 10 and that 143 would only chart for one week

OKHs will always lose one way or another :jonny5:
