GardenPanty Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 Crush sounds sooo good and is easily my most anticipated 3
Popular Post SchmoodRing Posted August 25, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 25, 2024 I'm really not gonna let haters or anyone else ruin this era for me. Yes, Woman's World was her usual cheesey empowerment anthem but that's always been her brand though so idk why people were even surprised. Also Lifetimes is objectively a harmless pop bop ❤️ and if anything should've been the true lead. Other than the obvious Dr.Luke link up everything else has been on point. Especially aesthetically speaking. We got a fantastic album photoshoot and pop bops galore. And features. And to be transparent it's very obvious after Witness and from her mouth directly she's over being a "pop star" she wants to make music just cause. Which is fine. So just enjoy it for what it is. I'm just really hoping to see her live on tour. And Get 4 singles with music videos. Someone suggested earlier that she might as well tack on 365 and When I'm Gone since they fit the same "dance party" which makes sense. The hate campaign to a degree is warranted because how was she not self aware enough to not expect any kind of backlash by complicit association. But other than that I'm fine with what we're getting. What's weird is all the haters checking in on her now and dragging her for Dr.Luke when she served two albums without him and ya still didn't check for her. Either way she was dawned if she didn't regardless unfortunately. People have already decided to tune her out no matter what her efforts were. I think moving forward it is MANDATORY that she doesn't work with Dr.Luke and also to not take another presidential run type of hiatus especially since she's not gonna be pre occupied with American Idol anymore. Like if we could get another album after this one like in 2026 collaborating with - Alesso, Zedd, Calvin Harris, Timbaland, Max Martin, Ilya, Cirkut, Bonnie McKee, Tove Lo, Charli XCX and Stargate - Honorable mentions would be a Marshmello, Joel Corry or Diplo collab would've been cute 17 1 2
SchmoodRing Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 Wait how many extra or bonus tracks are we gonna get 🤔 cause 11 songs for her as an album is rather short
Truth Teller Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 I'm kind of here for the WIG and 365 tacking. Not that she'll get a huge advantage, they get like 130k streams a day combined. But both songs are extremely underrated and they deserve whatever tiny revival they may have by being included in a new album She might as well tack Walking On Air and try to Cruel Summer it 6 2
Bends Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 "Crush" stuck in my head, but not in a good way. An example of such an incomprehensible song from a rural drunken disco, which then no one knows how to find, because it remained in my head. 1 1 1
TheVelvetRope Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 I hope she doesn't tease any more songs. Only 4 left and we've basically got a taste of the entire thing
Dark Miracles Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 (edited) Shakira's Vanguard performance was like 10 minutes right? So she could perform about 1.5 minutes of 4 classics as well as preferably Gimme Gimme and Nirvana for like 2 minutes each. I think the classics she should perform are Dark Horse, Teenage Dream, E.T. and IKAG. Enough with the empowerment anthems. But she needs to be smart with Gimme Gimme's place in the setlist, it can't be too close to Dark Horse. Ideally I'd want something like this: 1. Dark Horse akin to the Witness World Tour performance 2. Nirvana 3. E.T. but it ends abruptly after the bridge and after a short blackout segways into GG's opening notes would be a collapse 4. Gimme Gimme 5. IKAG 6. Teenage Dream Edited August 25, 2024 by Dark Miracles 1

Never Really Over or Harley's In Hawaii 6. Lifetimes 1

That makes more sense The way that her career would've been on a total different trajectory if she released • Mannequin as the fourth single after Waking Up In Vegas • Peacock (gay anthem waiting to happen), Hummingbird Heartbeat and Not Like The Movies • Scrap Birthday, This Is How We Do and release Walking On Air and Legendary Lovers instead • Roulette or Deja Vu as singles, kept Method To My Madness and secured a Rihanna collab • Release in 2019 and include Immortal Flame, Harley's In Hawaii as the second single, securing Dua Lipa for Teary Eyes as a feature and Drake for Energy, Cry About It Later as singles. Honorable mention for Tucked. Keep and make Save Me Some Tonight and High On Your Supply everywhere 1
thismoment Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 Katy leaving the VMAs after the medley is just Roar/Firework/Woman's World 6

Is LIFETIMES the official single for now cause that song is the one that they should be pushing then depending on fan reception that's how they should decide what single to choose moving forward
Truth Teller Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 VMA's setlist for full career revival Dark Horse Nirvana (short snippet) Chained To The Rhythm Roar Lifetimes Last Friday Night Hot n' Cold Never Really Over Teenage Dream 2
GrandeVersace Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Hopefully sth will stick when the album drops. Otherwise snatch a Sabrina/Dua etc feat on Walking on Air and release it as a deluxe track.
Ramcoro Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Do we think Crush might be the mid-tempo she mentioned?
Lagerfeld Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Another single is coming before VMAs and there won't be Lifetimes.

I think at this point doing more features to redeem herself and maybe even doing writing camps would help her immensely. Idk if it's ego or pride but she has passed on songs/demos that were offered to her that ended up being huge hits. Someone needs to twist her arm and get her to accept em.

Do we have a review of how that went? I'm genuinely excited for this record. Her and Nelly Furtado dropping new albums on the same day is major. If they toured together it'd eat
LionH3art Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 I think they should just stick to lifetimes until the vmas week and then debut gimme gimme 1

Especially when ya didn't care Not The End Of The World which was another variant. The fans are clearly begging for Nirvana. She needs to focus on pushing Lifetimes and act like Woman's World doesn't exist. Then once the album drops see the reception to the track or go the 2010s route and do a poll and let the fans decide which track should be the next single
