Rotunda Posted July 9 Posted July 9 I get saying the era overall was a non-event, but Texas Hold 'Em was basically inescapable until the onslaught of releases/surges we got later in the year. Those first day streams for CC wouldn't have been nearly as high if Texas Hold Em wasn't a strong performing single. 3
Erreur2 La Nature Posted July 9 Posted July 9 People are doing too much. I think it did good overall. 20 weeks isn't "impressive" for a song that peaked at #1 and stayed in the top 10 for quite some time but it's far from being bad and charting for 20 weeks is great.
chosensparkles Posted July 9 Posted July 9 this era is so dead, and I'm sad cause it's a great album 1
Julia Fox Posted July 9 Posted July 9 I loved this song and at the start it was giving a 40 week charting single, sad that it was dropped out so quick and that led the era to be over. I can't stand her promotion strategy lately, BODYGUARD was a smash waiting to happen but I guess she doesn't care and never be again. Happy that she keeps releasing albums even though I didn't like CC that much tbh
Julia Fox Posted July 9 Posted July 9 This ain't charting (woo), ain't no bottom (hey) So it's plummet down, down, down, down No charting single (woo) so throw your three act (hey) Girl stick around, 'round, 'round, 'round, 'round (stick around)

By the Water Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Kinda crazy how it just fizzled out after seeming like it would be a stable smash
burninredhot Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Any MPG would be dragged if their "smash" hit was this frontloaded. Idk why the hive here thinks Beyonce should be treated differently 1 1

Idk why the hive here thinks Beyonce should be treated differently Frontloaded would be if it served a chart run like this: #1 - #6 - #27 - #87 - OUT. THE spent 20 weeks on the charts and has almost 500m streams on Spotify in 5 months, that's not frontloaded at all. This isn't Bey's first hit, she's been in the industry for 25+ years and is still getting hits like this. 1

It's frontloaded for a smash hit tho. no shade but i remember many ATRLers calling it the biggest hit of the year
UnusualBoy Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Based on the chart run, it seems that it never recovered after the Taylor album bomb, it went from #5 to #31 and only rise to #25 to fall back down. The song deserved better but it's only Giselle's fault.

Parallel Posted July 9 Posted July 9 The song was a huge hit at its peak. If she was any other artist and there was a video with choreo and live performances it would've had more longevity but Beyoncé is semi-retired at this point 1

BGKC Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Not bad for the smash. Lots of new music being released. It's too bad she won't push anything else. Another wasted era depending on a tour for a second wind.

Heldenzeit Posted July 9 Posted July 9 I never liked it but it had a nice run. We all know Alien Superstar deserved that though.
VioletsandRoses Posted July 9 Posted July 9 She got her first global smash since Halo, so that's good at least. 20 weeks isn't bad, what matters is the total units.
Joaco95 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 11 hours ago, TayDuaStan said: Not "Is It Over Now?", a song OTHs claimed to be a non-event, spending more weeks on the chart than the so called biggest hit of 2024. Beyonce, the flop that you are… IION? spent its last week at #47 and then it was OUT at least THE was fighting for its life
naval23 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 It did better than "break My Soul", we love growth And its one of her rare singles that did better in Europe - it's still top 40 in multiple European countries like Germany, Austria and Belgium, 5 week #1 in the UK 1

Two iconic classics. true except I Really Like You had 2 weeks in top 50 (10% of its charting) and Texas Hold Em had 15 weeks (75% of its charting) - not THE looking like a mega smash with this comparison 1
