SeeingStars1515 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 at least 2x a week and I have Bodyguard and Tyrant on my workout playlist lol 1
J-esper Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Yes, bit it's one of those albums I want to listen from front to back so I don't randomly put it up, I listen to it multiple times a week

jordanjm Posted July 10 Posted July 10 I only use Riiverdance, 2 hands 2 heaven, and Bodyguard. I wouldn't say it's bad, it's just not what I want to listen to when we have so much music being released at the moment.
ChooseyLover Posted July 10 Posted July 10 (edited) It's interesting how we can think an album is good (even great) but still almost never feeling like listening to it. Is it the length? The genres she experimented with? Why isn't good enough to be revisited barely a few months after release? I personally didn't enjoy it but I wouldn't say it's bad just because it didn't cater to my preferences, I guess. Edited July 10 by ChooseyLover
FOCK Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Requiem, Daughter & Riverdance are career highlights for me, amazing tracks. The album is impeccably crafted, as a body of work, but it's not easy to get through just casually. It sorta demands your attention, which barely anyone has to spare these days. It's odd, because while each track is distinct, individual tracks don't quite stick out like "hey! Play me!", and aren't easy to distinguish. Like when I think of the album, the thing that comes to my mind is "bulk", rather than a specific track I love, even though there are a few. I think that's due to a combination of how they all flow and mesh into one another, the unpredictability of the production & the lack of singles/distinct visuals for tracks. It's not a critique of the album itself, moreso, how people are consuming music these days. 1
Iyanla, Fix Me Posted July 10 Posted July 10 I use 8-10 tracks. The shorter ones are actually some of my favorites. Cute album but it's no rennie
gagacasanova Posted July 10 Posted July 10 (edited) I have SO many CC songs on current rotation. Edited July 10 by gagacasanova
rebeltwat Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Sometimes, but the number of releases this year has caused it to fall slightly behind
GoatGly Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Cowboy Carter as a piece of art is incredible unfortunately as something to listen to everyday to and from work it's not ever on my mind outside of Tyrant. Love Bey down though.
KKKIMO92 Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Heard a few supposed highlights and they are all bombs to me….
mrpartyrocker Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Yes I do, but I created a playlist with the songs I enjoy the most and have them on repeat every now and then. I tend to play it when I'm doing house cleaning, it's actually pretty fun 1

LuneMon Posted July 13 Posted July 13 No. This album feels like those oscar bait movies which are clearly made for awards, you know they're well made, but you never watch those movies ever again because they lack... something.
Badgalbriel Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Whoever says yes, is probably lying. Entire album with all of its 27 tracks is already doing less streams than a Cruel Summer alone, a 2019 song and a 2023 hit. 1

It's not an album appealing to Gen Z, unlike a certain someone who has been putting out cringy albums for years. The music speaks for its self, we're good.

Seems like the music IS NOT speaking for itself, uh? And millenials are the majority of streaming consumers.

TipToe Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I listened to it fully again this week. I think "Leviis Jeans" to "Amen" section is flawless tbh - except the abrutp end of Ya Ya. I can live without most of the record middle section, Alligator Tears, Just For Fun and II Most Wanted are much alike and that part drags a bit for me.
