By 2015 it was clear that she was on track to be a legend.

By 2020 it was clear that she was a legend

By 2024 it's clear that only people arguing in bad faith would deny it.

Legends via commercial success: Celine Dion, Neil Diamond, Kylie Minogue, et al.

Legends via artistic significance: Joni Mitchell, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Robert Johnson, et al.

Some artists are in both categories. Taylor Swift is in the first one.

She doesn't FEEL like a legend despite her success and achievements. ACTUAL musical legends include: Michael Jackson, Patti Labelle, Barbra Streisand, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Beyonce, David Bowie, Tina Turner, Carole King, Aretha Franklin, and many more who are  more talented than Taylor Swift. Some of the legends didn't need to write their own songs. Their voice alone blows all of Taylor's limited talents out of the water

Taylor Swift, the musician, is a legendary artist. I don't get the confusion. :celestial:

I can bet on anything you want that artists who would have the same career as her would be deemed as legends too. Let's be honest here. :doublescoop:

She will be an American legend due to her sales, outside the USA she is nobody when the numbers run out

Celine doesn't just have sales, her voice is a legacy

1989 is a classic.

Songs wise definitively

Love Story

You Belong With Me

Shake It Off

Blank Space

And this is only the very biggest hits that were inescapable

If Lemonade is considered a classic, then I can probably name 200+ Taylor songs that are classics

Their definition of Classics are based on feels and vibes. They should be thanking no one is pulling up streams yet cause....

We'll see how many still listen or remember those "classics".

Meanwhile in the UK, she has the biggest album of the year (TTPD) and the 9th biggest song of the year (Cruel Summer) so far. I'd say the numbers are doing pretty well for her atm?

They probably think Formation is a "hit that stood the test of time" :toofunny3:

OT: Yes. The Eras Tour has solidified her as one. She started going in that territory when she released Folklore and took home AOTY for that. Legend!

Don't start because Beyonce has crazy in love, Single ladies and halo. What Taylor song will people think about in the future lol?
