I mean it was the official lead. Smile was postponed because she got pregnant. It's a different situation. H.E.R. had a album out in 2021 and added songs from 2019

There's really no reason to try to rewrite history - NRO and Harleys belong to Katy's 2019 droplet era

Daisies was the lead but it bombed so she quickly added 2 standalone singles in her album just for her streams to look better

Funny, that you guys are trying to act like they added NRO and HIH to boost the album. When I feel it was always the plan. 
 

HIH didn't go viral for a while after the album was out.

NRO and Smile (album) are only a year apart. There are much worst last minute add ons  at least they're solo Katy songs that were clearly produced at the same time.

NRO and HIH work well in the album's context and are positioned well for its overall storyline. It is not like they are just randomly attached as bonus tracks or whatever.

Do we know the stats for both Smile and Witness? How far are they from Platinum? Witness shouldn't be that far from Platinum. I wouldn't be surprised if it's been eligible for a while now.
