Since 2021, Lorde has been teasing her upcoming album L4 with talking about it during the previous tour, two live debuted demo songs, and rare social media appearences. It's confirmed that she's once again being innovative & focusing on her musical growth, with ditching the producer Jack Antonoff, and using the legendary alt producers Dev Hynes (Blood Orange), Jim-E Stack, Rostam and more. Dan ***** is also rumoured, but unlike others his involvement is not certain yet. (ATRL auto censors his surname I didn't do that...)

 

 in June 2022, during the Solar Power tour, she revealed that she has been already working on the next album, saying "sometimes, artists feel like they need to tone down their sound a little, and that's totally natural, but the BANGER will always be on the horizon."

 in August 2022, she said on an instagram live that she has been writing "crazy **** that she never talked about before" and "feeling braver and younger than ever".

 in August 2023, she made a rare Instagram post in which she said "she has a light on inside her which she wants to show us soon". The post is now archived.

 once again in August 2023, she live debuted two new songs during the tour called Silver Moon and Invisible Ink, which she said "brand new demos that she wanted to free from her laptop"

 

 

 

 in August 2023 again, fans have found out that she's working with Jim-E Stack, who worked with many artists including Caroline Polachek, Kacy Hill, Kendrick Lamar, Joji, Dominic Fike. This is later confirmed by Lorde.

 in October 2023, she was seen in NYC train with headphones, and she commented that she was listening to L4.

 in April 2024, she posted several Instagram stories, which also includes studio pictures together with Dev Hynes (Blood Orange). Even though it was known, this was her first official confirmation.

 this month, June 5 2024, she directly teased L4 in a rare new Instagram post, with a mysterious theme in which she's spitting from a balcony of Chateau Marmont. she used the teasing caption: "Use the existing tools wherever possible ©𝑳ĿŁု⑷♶ If the tools do not exist you are spiritually obliged to create them © 𝑳ĿŁု⑷♶⚤✬✹❁✰㉗✬✹❁🀥⚭ 𓆝𓃹𓁙"

 and recently, last Friday, she dropped the SOTY that is Girl So Confusing Remix. fans think the lyrics/sound is giving just a little taste of L4.

The remix just proved she continues to bring fresh and innovative concepts to the table. She says she does not do the same thing twice and these last three albums have been proof of that. I have no doubt she will do something different and engaging for this new album.

I really think this will be another magnum opus for her. The year has been packed with great albums so far and I have a feeling she'll gag us even more. The Girl remix was just the start I fear.
