Yeah Greatest Hits are extremely useless. Barely anyone will release them in the future. Just absolutely no point in them

Edit: But also this rule won't effect them since it says "multi artist" compilation album. Great Hits is usually just 1 artist.

ChartsFan vs. the whole forum. How refreshing.

if I decide I want to lie on the beach and stream some tunes from a compilation album because I like the song mix, it doesn't count.

wait what.

so if I would be U.S. citizen and I would have playlist created on my own called "June tunes rihanna is awesome" and there will be for example Wild Thoughts by DJ Khaled and I would listen that song 100 000 times so they would still get zero SEA points?

The streams would count for that song, but there would be no streaming equivalent albums counted for any album, because there is no album at the moment that has Wild Thoughts on it :celestial5:

For RIAA certifications those streams would still later count for a DJ Khaled album is he releases one that has Wild Thoughts on it. Billboard obviously can't count them later since Billboard is a weekly chart.

And listening to a song 100k times is almost 1 year in time :celestial5:

but if that situation would happen next week then SEA would be counted for Grateful album and be added to his b200?

and if I you'd listen britney spears' greatest hits part 2 100k times in a week, would she chart on b200?

Well shucks. Let's scrap greatest hits albums too. They are inherently unfair as they are just a package of already made hits and an unfair advantage.

/sarcasm.

my point being, it is always a slippery slope when you start making exceptions for this or  that, and you will always end up hurting something that deserved an equal shot to chart. I prefer to land on the side of fairness rather than throw up my hands and say ow well, the odd album exception is the price to pay.

more sarcasm, mired in truth

I will just sit back and enjoy the laugh when the screaming happens that some pop girl or rap various album gets denied.

/sarcasm-truth.

How old are you? Serious question

I understand that maybe being a little older you might be inclined to want to see things one way when times have changed completely.

Greatest Hits albums are becoming as obsolete as ever, infact I doubt labels will issue them in the future. Unlike during older times fans can stream all an artists greatest hits via Spotify, YouTube and other streaming services. The greatest hits album has no standing in 2017.

Good numbers for Katy, sales are dead...

So happy for SZA, she recorded an amazing R&B album and she's def that "Artist To Watch"

Nobody was actually finding and listening to those albums.

Well, one could argue that about certain non-VA-compilation albums where almost all the points come from one song and people don't seem to realize an album exists...

Damn SZA, go SZA :clap3:

XO TOUR Llif3

this is disgusting and needs to be DELETED. I'm here for so many urban songs but the songs by all these viral rappers are trash and people need to stop making them hits

Congratulations with another new peak :clap3:

That's more movement than I expected, but still pretty boring. :/ I hope XO Tour Llif3 drops out of the top 10, that song is trash IMO. I can't go an hour on the radio without hearing Shape Of You at least a few times, so I'm ready for that song to die. And I have yet to hear Despacito enough to tell if I like it or not.

Idc about what anyone says.... I'm still so salty that "Say You Won't Let Go" and "Issues" never went top 10.

#11 is an awful peak. They should've at least made it to #9 or #10.

Anyway, Early Top 10 Predictions.

1. Despacito (=)

2. I'm The One (=)

3. That's What I Like (=)

4. Wild Thoughts (NEW

5. Shape of You (-1)

6. HUMBLE. (-1)

7. Mask Off (-1)

8. Congratulations (+1)

9. Stay (-1)

10. Something Just Like This (-3)

"Despacito" (released on Universal Music Latino / Raymond Braun / SchoolBoy / Def Jam / UMLE / Republic Records) leads the Digital Song Sales chart for a sixth week, with 140,000 downloads sold (down 1 percent) in the week ending June 15, according to Nielsen Music; the remix with Bieber accounts for 80 percent of the song's sales for a third consecutive week. The track tops the Streaming Songs chart for a sixth week, with 69.4 million U.S. streams (up 2 percent) in the week ending June 15.

not another increase in streaming :skull: i can't believe how huge this is and it's definitely gonna be on top for a long time unless something completely extraordinary happens

I'm not one for slow love songs like SYWLG, but I'm upset about Issues too. :doc:
