brianc33710
If Jay Z releases on 30 June, that'll probably force Closer into recurrency before 52 weeks, much less 52 weeks in the Top 40. Unless he keeps all of his songs on Tidal, and even then if he releases the tracks for sale elsewhere. I really hope Closer can get to 52 weeks in the Top 40, since it set so many longevity records at toward the Top of the Hot 100.

Rentboy
Despacito is far from an organic success. It was literally repackaged for an American & English language audience. With Bieber thrown into the equation. Very calculated.

But you should stop looking at iTunes so much Spotify increase today was very nice. Next songs increase on Mondays, but that was a pretty big jump

No. Bieber wanted to be on the track after hearing the clubs reaction to the song in Columbia. He also doesn't speak Spanish, so not remembering Spanish lyrics is meh

Fruity
Despacito has definitely peaked too early to challenge for the big records. And I think the heavy burn on radio will come quickly causing it to collapse due to the language and the fact it kinda gets grating quite quickly. I thought it would get 14-18 weeks. Maybe had it had a release date three or four additional weeks prior to 25, and had AC not turned over to Christmas music as soon as Adele soared up the charts there, Hello would've hung around longer.
