Taydaughters are making up the majority of new Gen-Z pop girls. Why?

Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter and now Gracie Abrams. Some are gearing up for main gen-z pop girl status with their career beginnings being highly associated with Taylor Swift. But why?

Olivia sampled Taylor on her debut album twice, was an avid Swiftie (before paying her dust) during her SOUR era and revealed Taylor is her biggest icon.

Sabrina and Gracie both roamed into the spotlight by opening up for Taylor during the Eras tour. They have since been associated with Taylor as they have a public friendship with the singer and have both been repeatedly spotted with her.

Why are majority of new gen-z pop girls that are really getting embraced in the mainstream building their career off of being a Swiftie? Is it an ode to Swift's selflessness and dedication to women empowerment (ijbol) or are labels strategically aligning their young female artists with Taylor in the hopes of replacing her…

Gracie is a nepo baby and will fade fast. Sabrina is basic and is replaceable. Olivia is the only special one here and she has arguably distanced herself from Taylor and her style of music.

It is very telling that the artists Taylor 'inspire' are some of the most basic we've ever seen as far as popstars go. Their music is like unseasoned chicken.

Notice how the most interesting & most successful one wants nothing to do with her. Really makes you think

:suburban:

OT: Gracie is a fake Taydaughter she was literally on camera admitting to not recognizing one of her songs :giraffe:

No shade to any of these girls but they have learned quickly that talking about being fans of taylor is the quickest way to get swifties onboard. helps if they are also publicly hanging out with taylor.

with there being so many swifties, even getting a small percentage of them to support you, is a ticket to at least mid tier success.  olivia's fanbase is still largely swifties as soon as her streams go down signifcantly when taylor releases and vice versa.

what's funny is that gracie (aaron ) and sabrina (jack) have her producers as their main producers are their new and upcoming albums.

if it was an exec label, i would reccomend this strategy to any new female pop artists.

it's also not that new of a strategy. camila cambello also used it but with peak taylor mania it's become an even better strat.

It's just that Taylor created a "branch" of pop music/artists, that's all. The same way Madonna, Janet, and Britney did. There is now an influx of relatable, vulnerable, and female POV forward artists that write their own songs in a way that wasn't as prominent in pop music before Taylor. It's kind of what was always happening in the indie-sphere but Taylor has pretty much emboldened record labels to take that chance way more often than they used to.

Let it be known that Taylor also did this for country music. Leann Rimes opened the door for Taylor who then removed it from its hinges.

I don't really know that Gracie girl and couldn't really care less from what I heard, but why are people acting like she's a sneak when she's predicted to debut with Dua Lipa numbers?

Gracie Adams doing Louis Tomlinson streams? :suburban:

Dua - Radical Optimism : 83k (51k pure)

Charli - 77k

The streams and sales are enough to out debut certain faceless popstars and their 17 versions of the album so I would say she's doing more than good with her last album debuting out of top 50 and her not charting a single song on Global Spotify before the tour.

If Olivia and Sabrina were to do 70k copies this forum would be set on fire :rip: Give it up. That nepobaby needed a Taylor feature that almost doubled the numbers of every song on the album  and it's the highest charting by far. When Eras tour is over and the friendship with Taylor goes cold like every other pop girl, she will be forgotten. She's the one that deserves all the threads about owing success, not Sabrina.

Olivia and Sabrina are clearly on another level (Olivia especially because she has built her own brand by now). Chappell Roan already passed Gracie and she also likes Taylor (although of all aforementioned she is the one that sounds the least like her and has the strongest music identity)

and yeah i really dont like Gracie, because she's a clear example of pure privilege in music and it's funny watching swifties going after Billie's family as nepotism and then supporting Gracie lol

Sabrina has always been Ariana's daughter (in terms of music styles and aesthetic). Just because she opened for Taylor doesn't mean she's her "daughter".

Madison Beer is also heavily inspired by Ariana. Billie adores her

What is this "Taydaughters" thing? Sorry but Taylor does not have sons in the industry.

It's a lame attempt from a sector of the fanbase to inflate Taylor's impact in the young girls.

Taylor is massive but in the influence department she's weaker than all the older pop girls.

Olivia was the only one out of the bigger younger acts that was really Taylor's clone when she debuted but she has distanced herself as much as possible after SOUR and Taylor's rights were claimed on Deja VU.

Billie is influenced by Lana and Avril

Tate by Britney

Sabrina by Ariana Grande

Olivia switched from Taylor to more Avril.
