Princess Aurora Posted June 23 Posted June 23 I mean, she ruined her career with that song about flatulence tbh
Cain Posted June 23 Posted June 23 This was literally a good project, the cover was hot and interesting, she had the recognizable hair going on, she took all the right steps and collabs I really don't know what happened between this project and her releasing a song called Fart did her A&R quit? Why is the rollout to her official album such a mess filled with trash songs and even trashier visuals? Idgi 3 2

Idgi My five cent yapping with no receipts is that she (or her team) just lacked the vision to break her from meme straight into a pop rap star. Say what you want about Lil Nas X, when he left the EP days behind he came with full force with a conceptual visual of a male gay pop star/rapper with provocative looks, great imagery, and hooks etc Ice was already recycling lines with Fart and her last song. Another big mistake is sticking with Riot. Her biggest hit was with a different producer. For her own debut she should've branched out and try a hand at Doja's lane because no one will take her seriously on Nicki's land when she's a worse rapper than the city girls. The barbz were only supporting her because they wanted her to take Cardi's place in mainstream music, but once Cardi played her with the pic on Twitter, the messages shading Nicki were leaked and Nicki started to pay her dust it was over. She has no fanbase. Sue has no talent. She's in desperate need of a cute viral hit to stay alive 4
willmcclure9 Posted June 23 Posted June 23 It was all downhill once her brand became about her shits and farts 6
Movimento Perpétuo Posted June 23 Posted June 23 This is bad for her. Her album debut week will serve TRAGIC numbers at his point
skeeyee Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Well… she's consistently been releasing worse and worse music. I had a glimmer of hope for her, but … it's over
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Her last good song was Princess Diana, everything released after that has been BAD, which is especially disappointing because she's never even had her true breakthrough smash to date, and this is the time she should be proving herself and dropping quality, career-defining songs right now.
CottageHore Posted June 23 Posted June 23 The title alone is reason enough not to stream the song. *yawns* 1

Literally no one in female rap outside of Nicki, Megan and a few select others write the majority of their raps nowadays. Nobody really cares about authenticity; Cardi is Exhibit A. Doja is Exhibit B. Coi Leray is Exhibit C. A host of male rappers have said and done worse than that slave line. A lot of people of just didn't like the fact that the industry was pushing this white girl. Had she debuted now, people wouldn't have cared as much b/c black women are thriving now in the space. People would still have a problem with her blaccent and cosplaying 💀 1

Doja writes, why is she in this?. Those that were there literally saw her come up on IG lives writing and producing her own beats for songs she would upload to Soundcloud, wth? 2

She's in desperate need of a cute viral hit to stay alive I think Riot is the talented one in their collaborative efforts but his beats would hit harder with rappers that can actually, y'know, rap! As for Ice, this day was always coming as she screamed fad but her label could've extended her 15 minutes surrounding her different producers that could try to replicate more cute chill pop bops like BAL. She could've kept more pop fans around ditching all that yelling and drill beats for pop rap. Her team simply failed to elevate her in any significant way (music, visuals, fashion, performance, etc) and during such a pivotal time in her career. 2

Right. It became too monotonous, nothing stood out much, and at times, she just felt like an influencer social media meme-creator persona, etc.
laqqinq Posted June 26 Posted June 26 She should've just released her album last year, maybe when Deli was out.
Julia Fox Posted June 26 Posted June 26 This is sad but it was expected tbh and her team didn't do that much you could think they don't even believe in her vision (if she has one lol) but they just abandoned her and she's just about to have a disastrous first week sales and then will probably be dropped because there's no sign of promo lined up for her. i wonder if after that she will keep releasing songs or she's just gonna be an influencer or just fade into obscurity like that will be very interesting. She seems like the female Lil Xan
LastGreatBloodline Posted June 26 Posted June 26 (edited) I don't think has downfall can be blamed on nicki minaj controversies. Her song with Rema last year after Barbie already bombed to hell and back. She was always a meme, one-dimensional, the definition of a fad. If it weren't for Taylor + Barbie giving her some credibility she wouldn't have done much after Boy's a Liar pt. 2 Edited June 26 by LastGreatBloodline

Latto and Doja get lashed all the time for being biracial. I mean look at Drake. Iggy's downfall was inevitable. Even if her career would have lasted a little longer IG she came out now, she would have 100% caught a stray during the Kendrick/Drake beef. 1
MusicLoverDude Posted June 30 Posted June 30 All her songs sound the same tbh. No surprise she is fading out. 1
