Popular Post Kayseri Mantisi Posted June 21 Popular Post Posted June 21 (edited) Her penmanship is insane and she once again showed one of my favorite features about her — she writes relatable, quality lyrics that always impacts you on first listen more than others without using wordy, showy, overcomplicated dictionary'd cringe words, there's no verbosity. Like she just dropped VERSE OF THE YEAR on a random remix? Thoughts???? Can't wait for L4 which will be album of the decade Spoiler [Verse 2: Lorde] Well, honestly, I was speechless When I woke up to your voice note You told me how you'd been feeling Let's work it out on the remix You'd always say, "Let's go out" But then I'd cancel last minute I was so lost in my head And scared to be in the pictures 'Cause for the last couple years I've been at war in my body I tried to starve myself thinner And then I gained all the weight back I was trapped in a hatred And your life seemed so awesome I never thought for a second My voice was in your head "Girl, you walk like a *****" When I was tense, someone said that And it's just self-defense Until you're building a weapon She believed my projection And now I totally get it Forgot that inside that icon There's still a young girl from Essex [Pre-Chorus: Charli xcx & Lorde, Lorde] People say we're alike They say we've got the same hair It's you and me on the coin The industry loves to spend And when we put this to bed The internet will go crazy I'm glad I know how you feel 'Cause I ride for you, Charli (Charli, Charli) Edited June 21 by Kayseri Mantisi 41 2 3
Popular Post HonourableVomit Posted June 21 Popular Post Posted June 21 She's BEEN one of the best writers in pop since she was 15. Bravado is better than 30 year old Taylor lyrics for example. 25 7 2 7

visions Posted June 21 Posted June 21 She's always been the most relatable artist to me and that echos in her lyrics too. Idk if it's cos I'm the same age but her lyrics always have their way cutting so deep and being relevant to where I am in life in some way. 7 1
jesus del rey Posted June 21 Posted June 21 It takes a special level of talent to convey the most overwhelming emotions and experiences with such simple yet effective words and phrases. 11 1

Popular Post Kayseri Mantisi Posted June 21 Author Popular Post Posted June 21 I never used the word "Taylor" even once in this thread Let's just say this thread is NOT ONLY about Taylor it's about multiple artists, about the recent trend of some people thinking being extremely wordy equals to good writing skills, etc. Stop inserting her into everything..... this is why Taylor gets more haters day by day in ATRL.... We just wanted to talk about her beautiful lyricism and thread kinda ruined by a certain fandom thank you 32 6 4

Haze Posted June 21 Posted June 21 It's not about the simplicity really, but about how she uses the words for maximum impact. She's very poetic, so I won't undersell her by implying that difficulty is a problem -- she's just a very gifted writer and understands the language she's working with beyond a 'look how intelligent I am because I know all these words' way. She's not posturing or trying to impress, it's just a honed craft. Can't wait for L4. 11
Démodé Posted June 21 Posted June 21 If we exclude THAT album, yes she writes beautifully and relatably

It's not what anyone wanted but when everyone expected her to zig, she zagged. Oh you want me to eclipse Melodrama? F*ck that, I'm gonna do something completely different. Now that's an artist. Not someone crying over not getting nominated for a Grammy and then getting singularly obsessed with doing things for awards and recognition.
iamanearthling Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Do you guys honestly just think about Taylor everytime you listen to your favs or attend their concert? Taylor lives in your mind rent free ha. That's kinda hilarious and sad. Sad for you guys. Sending you love. ❤️ 6 4 2 3
