If Sabrina released Selena's "Love On". Would have been a hit?

Do you think Selena's latest flop single "Love On" should have done better if Sabrina sung it considering it's has a very Sabrina vibe sharing a similar vibe with Sabrina's hit "Feather" that was exploding on the charts at the time "Love On" came -and went-?

Yes, it would be bigger but still overall wouldn't have smashed as hard as PPP or Espresso given that it's a bland song.

Lowkey yes. Love On has the skeleton of a good song but the vocals give AI :skull: Sabrina would've done the song justice

The real question is why this song didn't chart at least like Feather

As I said when it was released, YES. It's very Julia Michaels / Feather coded @Truth Teller

very off topic but yes. Why? @thegp

I mean very interesting question.  Sabrina has deff worked with Selena's team Amy Allen, Julia Micheals etc.  Look how good the songs turned out for Sabrina.  I wouldn't put this past me that if Sabrina did Love on it would be a minor hit.

Reneé gives me such MPG vibes. She needs to break out.

Its so funny when stans get carried away by a successful year their fave is having. The delusion always shows up in different ways.

But the answer is Yes cuz this is Sabrina's year. "Love On" didn't sound authentic for someone that has already served Bad Liar, Fetish, Good for You, Hands to Myself and even ballads like Lose You To Love Me and The Hearts Wants What It Wants, it sounded childish for Selena. On the other hand it would sound more authentic for someone like Sabrina cuz she has very few known songs, so a fun pop bop would fit her better since she's seen as a new artist for the GP and a fun bop like Love On or the better (not gonna lie, love Sabrina) like Espresso is always welcome. for Selena a fun pop song is a letdown. For Sabrina a fun pop song is a fun pop song.

And the e-mails i cant send sounding like rare (album) hit a nerve huh? @Julia Fox

celebrate ur fave's well deserved success and stop thinking about universally known artists like SG. Rising stars are the best ones to keep track on, enjoy it

I can't say an album I dislike? You know I have praised Selena's works when I like and say **** about the ones that I felt like it and I don't hurt anyone with my opinion and always based on my personal taste and knowledge so don't act like I'm just freely hate Selena online 24/7 because it's not like that.

Anyway I don't think emails sounds like Rare at all lol Vicious sounds like Bad Liar and that's the only thing that comes close to Selena? Because Feather came almost 1 year before Love On. I don't get it the similarities tbh

I think it would've done better and suited Sabrina better

Selena is too old to be singing these teeny bopper kids songs

Not really.

The problem with this song is Selena's delivery. The song is clearly supposed to be tongue in cheek but Selena sounds so bored so the whole song sounds flat. Also the chorus is too high for her voice.

So yes I think Sabrina would've done it more justice, but so would lots of other people.

honestly yes maybe but that doesn't make it a good song :suburban:

Sabrina can provide inflections in her voice to properly deliver the song. I agree with somebody that Selena just sounds bored. Too bad because the song could have been a decent bop.

I mean, Sabrina is at her peak right now so who knows. She also cares about her music so she wouldn't have dropped it and ignored it the following day like Selena did lol.

not as big as espresso but yes

I feel like Sabrina would have made this song so much better idk. I just don't think Selena should be releasing music anymore. God please take Selena's passion and give it to Rihanna.

sabrina would have upgraded the song with her vocals and fresh lyrics instead of a boring lifeless flat delivery and julia michaels 2016 lyrics

You want Rihanna to have even less passion about her music career? Or what?

Exactly. The high notes are an autotuned disaster and the vocal mixing is just bad all over. And the talk/singing parts like the steak tartare also lack any emotion and are autotuned to death. I think Sabrina would have sold it better. The bones of the song aren't as bad as it seems.

not Love On having a very "Sabrina vibe" when that faceless autoplay white girl is the definition of generic trend hopping music :rip:

Selena did Love On 9 years ago and its better than any Sabrina song in existence.

Selena (or anyone) will never look for inspiration on Sabrina be serious

It suits Sabrina's personality better, so yes, she would do wonders for this song. Selena did not justice to Love On.
