People crying about turning 30 should be rejoicing at the news now. Crying their parents should have had them a few years later

Nearly all men had to register before, even those with exceptions. This just makes the whole thing automatic.

Have you seen those videos of Ukrainian senior citizens and teenage boys being forced to go out into the battle fields?

Only Ukrainian but not Russian that keep sending untrained meat on frontlines... You're very selective I see :coffee2:

We had something similar here in Germany. You either had to join the military or do a social year, which means helping old people or whatever. I'm so glad they got rid of it before it was my turn.

I'm not working for free for my country. I'm not a patriot, leave me alone.

If your birth date is accurate, they didn't get rid of it before it was your turn. They got rid of it in 2011. You just weren't pre-selected. I had to go to a military doctor for an examination at age 16, I believe. I got ruled out for service because I was an underweight twink, though. :toofunny2:

Wait what? You had to apply to be in selective services if you used FASFA? Was that only on males' applications? I don't recall seeing that.

yes only for male applications, but later on around 2019, they added to female applicants be required to do so aswell i think

I think they mentioned Ukraine to try and paint a sympathetic picture that would make people realize war is horrible and we should work to avoid it, not prepare for it, but yes, thank you for pointing out that America would more likely be in the position of Russia than Ukraine if sending its people to war.

Even more reason to protest such measures like selective service, the draft, etc. given America only ever fights within the last 50 years needless wars of aggression.

Yeah, keep voting for the same warmonger Democrats and soon you'll see yourself being drafted to fight in Ukraine.

I got the letter but didn't go and then months later they got rid of it. I don't remember the timeframe but I was relieved. I was an underweight twink too and not here for playing war so the outcome would have been the same. :rip:

I mean, they basically require you to register for the draft for so many basic things. I think I had to do it to fill out the FAFSA (this is the form you file to qualify for student loans, a lot of need-based scholarships will also use this form for financial information).

The draft should be banned altogether. I think the implicit requirement is not any better than the auto-registration process.

Russia shouldn't be doing it either but I haven't seen those videos because I'm assuming Russia has a bigger Army therefore they don't need recruitment like that

:bibliahh: ... You need to research this matter and see for yourself how Russia forcefully sending young blood from poor cities and villages into Ukraine, plus African and other  "volunteers", believe me, your eyes will open widely.

The forcing to sign up in order to be even be considered for government student loans (targeting lower income people specifically) was already abhorrent so surprising they extended it to rich kids as well. Military industrial complex must be eager for a new war :rip:

They should include females as well but wow! Keep calling the previous generation before you, old, gen z! Issa bout to be your time to shine

Girl, Russians are sending predominantly men from Sibiria and other far east territories who are Asian to fight in the war. Aside from the fact that they have actual Nazi parties, yes girl, real Nazi supporters who are openly recruiting russian men to fight in Ukraine.

And it can not be repeated enough here, it's great that the Western countries are finally waking up. Russia has been a constant threat since the late '00s.

Who says I wouldn't go to war if I had to? Cause I would have no other choice than to serve my country
