Also, with all of these 20 and 30 something girlies stanning and citing Xtina. She has shown them nothing but love It is obviously true, Mariah was exactly like this to Ariana too even demi had to defend her. When she realized Ariana had too much power with today's youth she changed her tone but she was going to be a biatch to her too. 2 2

I think that's when Mimi had the epiphany to treat Ari with respect Mariah has always had the nastiest of attitudes towards newcomers who are also powerhouse vocalists, if your voice stands no chance against hers you are in her good graces, see Beyonce as an example or Britney. Every girl that is vocally talented and has a once in a generation voice she gives her the cold shoulder. Love that competitive queen though. 2 2

And yet she was always welcoming to those who were kind to her. Brandy, Beyonce, Jojo, Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Tori Kelly, Jessica Simpson, Britney Speaes, Monica, Aaliyah, Jessie J, Taylor, Rihanna, Gaga, Muni Long, Kelly Rowland, Tamar Braxton, the list goes on. They've all said she was welcome and that people don't realize how much of a mentor she is to the new generations. They also said she was one of the only guest judges to ever take the time to legitimately mentor contestants behind the scenes. You see what you want to see, though. Xtina is the outlier because - surprise - she's rude to everyone. Mariah's issue was not with Ariana, but people saying she was "the new Mariah," when she was like "I'm right here." But she acknowledged her talent from day one, told Ariana through Nick she liked her Emotiond cover, and wished her well - there was never animosity between them. 2 1 1
