Someone commented at that link:

is this true? Also, with all of these 20 and 30 something girlies stanning and citing Xtina. She has shown them nothing but love

It is obviously true, Mariah was exactly like this to Ariana too even demi had to defend her. When she realized Ariana had too much power with today's youth she changed her tone but she was going to be a biatch to her too.

It seemed like Mariah began cozying up to Ariana once her twin toddlers started stanning Ari. I think that's when Mimi had the epiphany to treat Ari with respect:rip:

Mariah has always had the nastiest of attitudes towards newcomers who are also powerhouse vocalists, if your voice stands no chance against hers you are in her good graces, see Beyonce as an example or Britney.

Every girl that is vocally talented and has a once in a generation voice she gives her the cold shoulder.

Love that competitive queen though.

So you want to include more than just solo songs in the conversation?

Christina's catalog since 2010 has sold (and outstreamed) better than anything Mariah has released since 1997 combined

CM *What a random timeline you chose*

Xtina since 2010 ----------------- Mariah since 1997

2010 - 750,000 - Bionic -------------- 1997 - 10,900,000 - Butterfly

2010 - 1,375,000 - Burlesque --------- 1998 - 16,525,000 - #1's

2012 - 525,000 - Lotus --------------- 1999 - 7,535,000 - Rainbow

2018 - 200,000 - Liberation ----------- 2001 - 2,055,000 - Glitter

2022 - 50,000 - Aguilera -------------- 2001 - 4,717,000 - Greatest Hits

---------------------------------------- 2002 - 3,030,000 - Charmbracelet

---------------------------------------- 2003 - 530,000 - The Remixes

---------------------------------------- 2005 - 9,075,000 - TEOM

---------------------------------------- 2008 - 2,110,000 - E=MC²

---------------------------------------- 2018 - 185,000 - Caution

---------------------------------------- 2020 - 80,000 - The Rarities

---------------------------------------- 2020 - 25,000 - Magical Christmas

2010 - 2024 - 2,9 million - Xtina

1997 - 2024 - 61,1 million - Mariah

2010 - 2024 - 2,3 million - Mariah

Mariah has outsold Xtina 2:1 from 1997 (incl. Xtina's entire career), and Mariah's blockbuster albums aren't even counted yet: 14,3m - Debut, 6,9m - MTV, 8,5m - Emotions, 26,8, - Music Box (which on its own "almost" outsold Xtina's entire albums career worldwide), 14,4m - Merry Christmas and 20,5m - Daydream (152,5 million)

Demi was replying to a literal stan meme, not to Mariah :rip:

And yet she was always welcoming to those who were kind to her. Brandy, Beyonce, Jojo, Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Tori Kelly, Jessica Simpson, Britney Speaes, Monica, Aaliyah, Jessie J, Taylor, Rihanna, Gaga, Muni Long, Kelly Rowland, Tamar Braxton, the list goes on. They've all said she was welcome and that people don't realize how much of a mentor she is to the new generations. They also said she was one of the only guest judges to ever take the time to legitimately mentor contestants behind the scenes. You see what you want to see, though.

Xtina is the outlier because - surprise - she's rude to everyone. Mariah's issue was not with Ariana, but people saying she was "the new Mariah," when she was like "I'm right here." But she acknowledged her talent from day one, told Ariana through Nick she liked her Emotiond cover, and wished her well - there was never animosity between them.

Except for Mya, Lil Kim, Cher, Kristen Bell, Stanley Tucci, Dave Navarro, Ariana Grande, Alicia Keys, Demi Lovato, Jennifer Hudson, Ricky Martin, Herbie Hancock, Becky G, Nathy Peluso, Nicki Nicole, Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Lopez, Whitney Houston, Gwen Stefani, Nicole RIchie, Paris Hilton, Andy Cohen, Ellen Degeneres, Kristopher Buckle, Etienne Ortega, Kylie Jenner, Tinashe, Kim Petras, the list goes on.
