The way the results of these are going to be embarrassing

:clack:

The lack of Radiohead, OutKast, Missy Elliott, Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Frank Ocean, etc. is going to be deafening.

20. Mariah Carey – The Emancipation of Mimi

I tried doing a quick draft of albums I was considering and ended up with almost 40 albums. :deadbanana4: Narrowing them down to 20 was hard. It's more of a "fav albums of all time" list than anything, which is why it's so 2010s-heavy.

I only picked one project per artist (sorry, ST :frown:) and an album needed to have at least 100 scrobbles on my last.fm to be selected (Purple Rain and Loveless were so close :rip:).

I wanted to throw in some "obvious" picks (that I actually like) such as Abbey Road, Dummy or Back to Black, but 20 spots is a really small number. Sorry, @PoisonedIvy, but looks like you'll be doing the heavy lifting for the legends!

I've recently been trying to expand my taste and getting into some older projects (Stevie's classic period, Maxwell and The Cranberries' debut albums, The Isley Brothers' Between the Sheets, some of Hole's albums, etc.) and while I loved them, I think it's too early for me to start putting them on my all-time list. Maybe in some future list. :foxaylove3:

Not when she's the Janet/Madonna of Japan with a far better discography than the other divas. her 90s-00s run >>>

Knowing the atrl will rank something like Born this Way over a masterpiece like Purple Rain (if it even makes the list) discourages me from submitting a top 20 :psyduck:

Namie is my ultimate jpop fave, clock the avi, due to her countless bops.

But her 90s albums were so messy with the random remixes and interludes :sistrens:

She peaked quality wise with Style and QoHP tbh
