Ozark actress Julia Garner, I am told, is still on board to play Madge, secretly taking dancing and singing lessons for the past year.
Madonna is now lining up meetings with Universal Pictures to get the ball rolling again, with the hope they can finalise the script this summer.

 

A Hollywood source said: "Madonna has only just finished her tour but in her mind it is on to the next project and fulfilling her dream of getting the biopic made. Julia is still her lead actress and they have remained in touch for the past year, talking through ideas.

"They are committed to creating some magic. Madonna feels that Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and Elton John's Rocketman biopics have paved the way for her. "She wants to make this more unique and dramatic than those".

 

"A range of secret meets are being organised with Universal Pictures to get the project nailed down. There is a lot to work on with locking down the rest of the cast, arranging shoots and completing the script but the hope is that they can start filming in the next 12 months."

On the other hand, I'm not sure at all that they give tell a good and deep story about Madonna if you retell her career from 1984 to 1998 for an hour and a half.

You know she can do both like they released popular and it was indeed a popular hit , knowing abel I'm low-key certain they made at least 5-7 songs during those sessions, i believe she is gonna release the album or at least finishing it before fully focusing on her biopic since it's one of her dreams and it means so much for her

A movie about her upbringing, her mother's death, her catholic background, her moving to new york looking for a better life, the aids crisis blowing up, the way she moved up the chain with no money and ending with her debut album releasing would honestly be an amazing movie. She had such an interesting story that many people don't even know about. Watching a movie with just her career would be boring tbh.

Either way, I am very excited. If this gets destroyed with the critics, it will be tough to get through as a fan but as long as she gets to tell her story her way, it's a win. So I will stand by her and watch it
