Is "Radical Optimism" the ARTPOP of the 2020's?

Not people in here acting like RO is just a flop commercially and not quality-wise. That album is a low quality mess.

No. ARTPOP was a cultural moment. RO will be forgotten next month.

No.

End of thread. :bam:

One of the weirdest comparisons here.

RO is bad becausee it's safe and boring.

Artpop  is bad because it has one of the messiest albums productions and lyrics ever.

Gaga had a big fan base that made the album look big eventhough nobody uses it today outside the fanbase and applause. Dua doesn't even have that.

Let's see if it RO destroys Dua's music career like it did with Gaga.

ARTPOP sorry I so sweetie am....

Applause was a genuine hit, it's right behind Paparazzi at #11 on her top-streamed Spotify songs. I hope Dua finds the right single if she continues to promote RO.

Miss ARTPOP , the most anticipated and most expensive release of 2013 sweetie…

Of course not, Dua flopped with dignity

Both albums are bad but Artpop was an event at least

Radical Optimism is actually good and not pure noise. :)

No. Radical Optimism isn't a bad album, it's just a flop. Dua also doesn't have the fanbase to pretend it's some cult classic. It's just not comparable at all.

They both the same to me I can only deal with few songs of each album. Houdini, TS, Illusion and Maria from RO.

Venus and Aura from Artpop

no, RO is listenable.

Love Dua, but ARTPOP seriously outshines RO. ARTPOP was nothing if not bold- it's the sound of one of the biggest popstars of the 21st century melting down in real time. There isn't anything else quite like it.  The only thing they have in common is that they both failed to resonate with the average consumer.

RO is fine but it's nothing innovative or particularly memorable- it's a boring flop. Let's make this thread again in 11 years and see if people are talking about RO the way fans and haters alike still talk about ARTPOP. :gaygacat7:

No Artpop is good

ro is forgagaten already so nope

If anything, RO is the reverse-ARTPOP :rip:

ARTPOP was criticized for being too maximalist. It's an electropop nervous breakdown that was too loud and messy for the average listener.

RO is the exact opposite. Dua played it too safe and the album is bland and uninteresting as a result.

Anyone who legitimately believes RO is comparable to ARTPOP is telling me straightaway they did not directly experience ARTPOP's messiness in real time.

That one was diabolical.

the weakest song in RO (Anything for Love) is better than any song on Artpop. :duck:

No. Artpop was a flop but it was a pop culture moment. The meltdowns were a kii.

RO was more of a Xtina type of flop where no one cared. Also expectations were not as high.

The last colossal pop flop that flopped so badly and epically it was iconic was Witness. It hasn't happened since from what I can remember.

Artpop is a classic in all its messiness. And I loved how chaotic that era was.

Lol ARTPOP was known by EVERYONE and hated by everyone. The hate it got was such big promo. People knew the album for sure but they didnt buy it to punish Gaga. If Radical things was half known as ARTPOP the sales would be doubled :deadbanana:
