I will say the thing stopping me from fully getting into her music is how, fleeting it feels and the songwriting quality suffers or can be too faint a picture painted. 

 

On the long song thing with pop music it leads to this piecemeal multi-part approach all the big albums this year could have been pruned edited better and the work would benefit. Also, repetitiveness is natural in pop doesn't mean it should sound boring.

I like PP but of course she would have this mentality  it does not serve her atm to go against this trend when her entire career thus far benefits from it. Some would even say she was the impetus behind this "tiktokification" of popular music being as she is signed under one of the conglomerates that started the tiktok music deals in 2020. Also, you don't need a long song to have a bridge. Go listen to any classic pop hit of the 60s, especially from the Motown machine. Those were fully formed tunes and almost none of those songs were longer than 3 minutes.

I think 3:30-4 minutes is the magic song length, some songs deserve longer though but in general that is the sweet spot.

… what is this shittastic take? Not every song needs one but news flash - not all songs should be made for Tik Tok. The super short 2:30 minute songs are tired and need to go away. Bridges are a great way to break up a song and add some depth to it. Thankfully the Tik Tok era of music seems to be slowing down a bit (it's still there but after a lot of Music catalogs got pulled…)

This is not always necessary. Not every artist is an Easter egg central like Taylor Swift. However, even in those cases, verses, choruses and bridges are still important.

I never said it was necessary, I said 1 minute songs that lack a bridge clearly don't value storytelling. It's not bad or good, it's just usually the case. I'm all for care-free meaningless bops. I've been streaming **** Pop: Miami for months

Well she should try harder because it's no coincidence that the longest song on her album (Capable of Love, 3:44) is also the only great song on her album.  Everything else is sub-three minutes and mostly forgettable.
