Illuminati Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I wonder sometimes what this site was like before the great straight exile in the 00s. Were there thirst threads dedicated to famous women? Scary to think about 2
dumbsparce Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Oh **** I thought you got perman'ed. So happy to see you back! Spoiler 1 1

Timber Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I think it might have to do with with the fact that atrl is highly focused on chart battles. For some reason men love statistics, straight men obsess over it in sports. ATRL men obsess over it with pop girls. 7 2

Devin Posted May 27 Posted May 27 theres a handful of women on this site. they acc the more chill users here. 8 1
Trent W Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Honestly most women stop caring about pop culture atound the age of 20, and care mostly about male singers which this forum despises. most of this forum is also men in their very late 20s or 30s There is literally zero reason for a girl to be on this forum unless they really stan another girl and wanna follow up stats 1
Peak Now Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Because society expects men to listen to "masculine" music like rock or male hip-hop or whatever, and there is still this idea that listening to MPGs makes you effeminate, and so as a result male MPG stans tend to end up on anonymous online spaces like this site and stan Twitter so they can converse with like-minded people without being subject to societal prejudice
TaggedGalaxy Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Because women can get d!ck more easily and we have to keep ourselves busy while waiting 2
99sandthe2000s Posted May 27 Posted May 27 lady here! I just assume everyone I interact with is male cause that's the main demo. I can't lie the sexual content on here can be but I stay in my corner of the forum and it's fun. 10
Tm4074 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I'm one of the few women on here. y'all can definitely get more women here if this place wasn't still going on about dated topics like Britney vs Xtina lmao. There are plenty of women on stan twitter, for example, but they are here for more current stars (Taylor, Ariana, Olivia, Billie, Harry, Justin, The Weeknd, Kpop artists, etc). and ATRL isn't the most welcoming place for that discourse. 10

This website is a very female-artist focused site. Also, most people that engage in stan lingo and culture are gay men. you can not be a girl... more like a gay man trapped in a girl's body! 1 4

As one of the few ladies here, this is funny bc the exact opposite happened to me. I was mostly obsessed with male singers as a kid/teen but now most of my favorite artists that I'm invested in are women I like ATRL bc I do like keeping up with pop culture discourse and my favs with ppl I'm assuming are more around my age here (mid 20s) and not the literal 15 year olds on stan twt. 5

I agree Most girls in their teens are very invested in pop culture because they follow some male artist and they outgrow that phase around the age of 20 and focus in their personal life, marriage or other stuff. The only women that follow pop culture in their 20s and 30s are fans of girls like Taylor or Beyonce that keep dominating and grow with them.
